Chuck will never sign with the Pacers unless they offer crazy money. If the Bulls don't go after Battier they will surely go after Chuck. Tom Thibodeau is one of Chuck's first supporters and likes him very much.

He has a great value on this team, true, a super soft team on the block. He will never have 5-8 mil/year value on a true winning team. Never a 6-6 big man with no athleticism and no shot. He has felt more crucial than ever for this team and it has been translated in a great level of confidence and possibly overperform offensively.

He's not a great rebounder, he can't change shots, it's easy for the perimeter players to score on him. He's not a 1on1 player offensively, neither a good mid range shooter, neither a great finisher given his limited athletic abilities... Adelman and his offense have taken the best of him, but he will be an offensive liability still in 80-90% of teams. One thing is how important he has been for our team; another thing is how he's valued around the league.

And what's even more incredible is that he's a great person. Completely approachable and will carry on a conversation with you like he's just a regular guy at a karaoke bar (he loves karaoke--can't sing, but he loves it). And he truly wants to stay in Houston for his entire career, and be a big man coach after, well, that and do a little acting.

I would hate to lose the guy.

I love the Chuckster. I absolutely love what the guy brings to the team and would hate to lose him.

But I would also certainly understand his decision if he wanted to go somewhere that can give him a great chance to get a ring in the offseason.

That's not nearly the love we give to Ramon Sessions or DeAndre Jordan here. That's barely the love we give Aaron Aflalo here.
