    DO SOMETHING front office...

Sign those guys from D-league is definately gonna help ...
Make a trade would definately help...
Doing NOTHING will just make our situation really bad after we approach deadline...

Zaza is untouchable for only just a TE. He's the Hawks only genuine big.

Delonte West is another fantasy acquisistion. Come fourth quarter he's the guy they put on the floor. When they need some D at the point he's also the player they to go to.

I'm keen on the Rockets getting Hunter as a backup for Yao. I still am but not as 6 to 10 week fill in. Rockets do need a another true C (already have 2 undersized guys who can fill in C in JHO & Hayes) but I'd rather they tried out Haryasz or Schensher first. Hunter would be good acquisition but only after the 2007 draft, ie Depending on who they draft.

My guess on who the Rockets wanted with the TE for was Korver. Rockets are a bad 3P shooting team for the first 3 quarters. I actually believe JVG had higher hopes for Novak and was banking on him a little until that dreaded Jazz game. All that talk about spacing created from the four went out the window
    after that.

I still think Travis Diener would be a valuable backup on this team.

Atlanta only has 46M on the payroll and there is no way they will dump Pachulia's 4M salary just for financial reason.

The only team looking for some financial relieve is 76ers. You can see it from the AI trade.

    Alston+Sura+TE+2007 2nd round pick for Miller+Hunter

    or

    Alston+Sura+TE+2008 1st round pick for Miller+Korver

If McGrady remains out for any considerable length of time, I can't help but think that a trade is no help anyway. No player worth the trade exception is going to come in and contribute enough to offset the loss of either Tracy or Yao, nor will any D-League players.

I think a guy like Hunter wouldn't be a bad idea. We need someone else to replace Mutombo next year anyway and Hunter would seem to fit the bill, so long as his trade kicker wouldn't put him over the 4.2 TE (his currently salary is at $3 mil and we would have up to something like $5 mil worth of salary we could take back on the TE, if I understand the rule correctly, so the kicker could be upwards of 50% and we'd still be fine).

I say make that deal to give us some semblance of a center rotation, let Spanoulis or Lucas step into the backcourt, and continue getting Wells his touches until McGrady comes back. We should at least know a little more about what we have by then and who is worth keeping for next year if indeed this one is shot by then.

I would think they would give us Hunter for the TE straight up just to dump the salary. Can't see us trading Alston. Although we could move Sura's contract for Korver if we want another shooter.

Trade winds are brewing between Clippers and Kings with the Clippers sending Maggette to the Kings for Artest. I'd like to get in on that deal and re-route Artest here and send the Clippers Sura's expiring along with Padgett's expiring, Snyder, and a couple #1's with Snyder possibly going back to Sacramento with Maggette if the Clips didn't want him. If the Clips are serious about getting Dunleavy, this is one way to facilitate that deal.

    D. Jones and Lue are garbage and would be a downgrade from Alston. The Celtics have a logjam at PG, and I wouldn't mind plucking away Telfair or West.

Wouldn't we have to release Sura or have him retire to be able to sign someone from the D-league?

alright this makes senes to me but who knows

    juwan howard for earl boykins

the nuggets have 0 use for earl now that they have a.i. and we sure could use a guard that can dribble/shoot the three to take minutes away from rafer. i dont really know how stacked the nuggets are in the pf department but it seems like a veteran pf who has been shooting REALLY well lately would be desirable.

There is nobody available for the TE that will significantly improve this squad. We are stuck with what we have.

I thought we were trying to get away from broken down, injury riddled players myself.

I think Philly would be a willing partner. I'm sure Korver and Hunter could be had at the right price.

I'm intrigued by Hunter, simply because I think the frontcourt is our greatest need right now. Someone 6'11" who can run the floor and block shots would help nicely off the bench. He hits a high percentage of shots and rebounds fairly well. He'd be a nice piece off the bench.

personally, I want Jeff Foster to be Yao's backup...but I wonder if we could get him...maybe a deal Foster + Tinsley for Alston+Sura+picks or whatever...

im stunned you guys still have hope. i predicted my end of season record but i stayed quiet becuz no one would believe it...the rockets will lose every game now without the dynamic duo...forget using the trade excemption, now its time to tank and start talking who to draft....and fire jvg, and rebuild becuz having two stars and a bunch of crap isnt going to be productive anymore *sigh no one believes me*....go ahead and follow the Miami Heat model Jvg....now you see when 1 star gets injured the season is down the tubes....this team needed Allen Iverson but didnt want to trade Head and Sura so dont believe the crap Cd says in the paper....Iverson wanted to come here and it was in the works...Jvg and his ego didnt want knuckleheads so he blew it...now i hope he gets fired...unfortunately these injuries will save his job becuz now he has an excuse to suck...

just like the texans winning and blowing any chance at Adrian Peterson..houston teams constantly f-up...amazing...just wow.

I've seen the guy work out a few times in the last few weeks right across the street from me in Miami. Looks like...same old [slightly healthier] Penny.

    Oh,you are so smart.

    It's 2 different trades.

    Sura+Alston for Miller

    and

    TE+pick for Hunter or Korver

Perhaps, but just take a look at West's career averages compared to Kirk Snyder's. We got Snyder for what, a conditional 2008 second-rounder? I realize Snyder's situation was different, however the Celtics are terrible and i'm sure anybody on that team is available for the right price.

    Shouldn't that prediction be 16-66?
