Say what you want about Mcgrady but he played his heart out for the MAJORITY of his Houston tenure. Yes we know about the Toronto game blah blah... But honestly at that point injuries had caught up to him and he was pretty much done. I still remember the playoff series in 07/08 I think it was against the Jazz. We ended up losing in 6 games. That last game 6? Mcgrady had 40 points. The next leading scorer? Scola with 14 I believe it was. So you're not gonna sit here and tell me Mcgrady isn't credible or he didn't play his heart out. Unfortunately for him his teams never had the talent and when it did his injuries caught up to him.
I agree with T-Mac here, but it was still a good trade when you consider what we gave up. Even if Lawson shot nothing but threes, his % suggested it was still a good trade. It just didn't work out. I'm sure Morey learned a lesson about listening to his players' suggestions though. Harden was the one that asked for Ty Lawson. Next time, let the players stick to what they're best at and Morey can work on what he's best at.
For someone whose favorite players accomplished much more than Tmac's teams did you sound a lot like sour grapes, sour, sour, sour.
Oh it's you, the one who thinks that a show that has a very popular nba player for 16 years must not be popular I'm going to wager that you will barely watch this tmac show.
You have little sense of humor. I hope you get your own show one day. I will watch even if it's just an amateur hour with your brother Dada.
i have no problem with him talking about how to score, facilitate an offense, or even a defense technique (because he was pretty good when tried - ie against dirk in the playoffs) but sacrifice and team chemistry? Nope.
He can tell the team (and by the team I mean Harden) not to do what he did. How much he regrets losing his opportunity and having his all his positive achievements overshadowed by those isolated moments where he did not give it his all.
Lmao sacrifice and team chemistry? Anybody without an NBA background can say that.... Personally I don't need Magic, Jordan, Bird or Kareem telling me this. Everybody should know from parents, relatives or friends.
but you aren't in the nba. nba players respect what other nba players say, especially if the nba players are legends. oh, like Jordan didn't influence LeBron to sign with Nike? but go on in your alternate universe of how things are..
this is true. However if it's interpreted differently by who says it. If Michael Jordan says that you don't have what it takes to be a champion, that's going to be interpreted differently than if Tracy McGrady says that about a player.
He's right, and was smart on the court, so he should be smart enough to know how his comments will be received by those who watched his demise here. Loved him while it was good, but the finish was sour, and while it wasn't all on him, he has to know those comments are going to come off as a little disingenuous or at least misplaced knowing how he wrapped things up here. Now, had he said, "It's not always easy to be your best and do the right thing when you have so much responsibility" before saying what he did, that would have gone over pretty well, but as it was, too much room for people to say "Look who's talking."
I don't think he cares about random Clutchfans posters that mock him, he knows he still has the trust&respect of someone like Les, Hakeem, Harden, Dwight, etc. He is trying to help the team, appealing to diagruntled CF posters was surely the last thing on his mind.
The only Rocket who cared about Clutchfans was Ron Artest. The only people who care about T-mac criticisms are Tmac only fans. Let's see how good an analyst he really is. Jalen Rose is the best ESPN analyst that use to play in the NBA right now. Let's see if Tmac gets more play than Tim Legler. Tmac's endeavors post NBA. Minor league baseball player - less than a year Chinese League player - one season ESPN Analyst - ????
We could also get TMac to talk to the team about his world famous offseason training regime, right after that team chemistry talk.
