i work in the health field, doctors generally make the same recommendations to every patient in regards to certain illness/disease, but those recommendations don't apply to everyone. patients usually take those recommendations and make their own decisions on how to go about it. doctors said to miss one week and rehab then play. tracy thinks he needs more time off for rehab and then play. he probably really wants to stop the soreness before he comes back to play, which is understandable. it's not like he "doesn't" want to play. if he didn't, he should have shut it down to start the season and don't play at all b/c he hobbled basically EVERY game. if he doesn't want to embarrass himself, he should have sat out after scoring 3 pts in 2 games v. LA. tracy wants to absolutely make sure he'll come back with his knee in the best shape as possible. if that's his decision, we have to trust it b/c he knows his body. look tracy has gone through more injuries than most of us have. he knows his bodies. doctors can only diagnosis and treat. they do not know the tendencies of how your body reacts to everything.
what excuse? i said he's out with a very weak injury right now, and it is annoying. but given that it's december 3rd, i don't care. actually, i think this will give artest and yao a chance to really get rolling, kind of like how rafer got rolling last year with t-mac out. t-mac certainly doesn't intend that, but it's a nice positive consequence.
C'mon, do a little better than this. No one on that roster should be take things as lightly during the regular season as you are. Tangibles like home court advantage make a difference. Playoff seeding makes a difference. These aren't things pulled out of a hat after the regular season comes to a close. These are things teams work and fight for during the regular season.
I hope that's the case, but it remains to be seen. However, if Tracy thinks he's limited and that's not helping the team, his absence on the court altogether will be at least as equally painful on the Rockets.
i don't mind the frustration. like i said before, the good thing about sports is you live in the moment. fans only care about what that player has done for them lately. it's like sprewell. he can choke a coach and act like a thug one season. and when he plays well, knicks fans are absolutely in love with the guy. when he does come back, tracy just has to play well. and i'm sure his motivation will be extremely high to play well b/c i'm sure he's listening to all these criticisms, and esp. by the houston media. trust me, when tracy comes back, it's gonna be with a vengeance. people doubted him when he came out of high school and thought he wasn't gonna play past his first contract, he became a superstar. people thought he was done after the back injuries in 05-06, he came back and made all-nba 2nd team. now people think he's done and gave up, trust me, i'll look forward to seeing tracy play at the end of this month. it's gonna be something special.
maybe he needs to know that he's hurting our team and costing us wins, rather than helping us. if he didn't play v. indiana or denver, we "might" have had a better chance b/c i'm sure brooks, landry, scola would have taken more shots. at least tracy admits he's not helping the team when he's out there (although his presence does help). ron is not helping the team much either outside of 1-2 games so far this season.
what i don't understand is what do some of these people think his motiviation is? why is he quitting on a team when the talent surrounding him is the best he's ever had? do people believe there's some sort of inner turmoil going on behind closed doors between t-mac and the front office or other players? i don't understand why it's not acceptable that he is in pain and doesn't feel like he's helping the team being out there.
exactamundo. tracy knows this is his best chance of going deep into the playoffs. if he's not fully healthy by april, it won't matter. i've never seen tracy as cautious with an injury as this one. in 05-06 and last yr, he rushed back from the injuries earlier than expected. i think he "can" play if he has to. but he's not gonna risk delaying the healing process for a chance at advancing in the playoffs. this year is too big, too important for him to be playing recklessly. he knows this is the best team he probably will ever had. he's not gonna want to waste it.
Once again, I really admire some Tmac fans' stong nerves! Year after year, disappointment after disappointment ... Can any hardcore Tmac fan honestly say he or she is not disappointed by Tmac at all?
Funny how everyone will say that about Yao and Artest, but not the other way around... As if McGrady never plays hurt. And as another poster is saying, TMac seems like he's pulling himself b/c he feels like he hinders the team more than helps it. Ironically, regardless if he's dropping 30 or 3, he helps the team. Right now, Artest seems to be hurting it.
I think every fan at this point is disappointed with his injuries and frustrated by it. But some people on this board act like a got damn b**** when it comes to this situation. They act like the Rockets is the only thing in their life. Talking about their suffering. smh
You'd think by the reactions around here we just had a "Yao out for the season-like" announcement. 10-15 games...that's what we are talking about. 10-15 games which most people should have known to expect.
