100% agree, and according to the doctors that won't happen until he plays and strengthens the knee. DD
that's what these fans do not get. is it frustrating NOW? no doubt. but if this makes tracy fully healthy by the end of the month like he says, it's good. tracy, i think, planned if the rest, if he had to rest, was for this month b/c the schedule is VERY easy. (i mean if yao and artest can't lead us to a 65% winning record this month, well, i don't know what to say). don't we go through this with tracy EVERY year? and EVERY year he's the only rocket who consistently performs in the playoffs, the games that matters? but i do hope fans who turn on him now, don't embrace him when he has success. but it'll be sweet for those who stick by him and the team.
as long as the team record is better with him than without him, nothing can be said and he can force the fans and the organization to accept the current situation.
1. Classless. 2. Who can watch McGrady hobble around the court this season and insinuate that his injury isn't real? It is obvious that the pain in his knee is seriously his ability to perform. That is no less legitimate than Yao's foot fracture. 3. McGrady has played with numerous back injuries. He's not soft. In my opinion, he's played with this bum knee much longer than he should have. He held out long enough for Battier to get back and would probably still be playing if Battier was still out. I wouldn't call that soft.
All I care is if the owner, the GM, the coach, and his teammates are behind him or not. If they all think it's good for the team to rest TMac for 3 weeks, we as fans should support it 100%. If it's just TMac's own decision, we have a big problem (20M) here. I am waiting for the response from others, if there are no strong supports from the GM, the coach, the vet players like Yao, Alston, Battier, both this season and tmac's time as a rocket may already be over.
I'm as hard on Mac as anyone, but that banner is bush-league. It's not like he hurt his knee on purpose, and to treat this like he is Marbury who is just cashing it in.....that's crap. If it's Blindbury's work, he is an idiot. We should put up a banner showing his salary, how many useless words he types, then break each letter down to show how big of a waste he is.
i just think it's overall frustration. every year, your star player gets injured. every year we end up playing a tough team in the playoffs and lose. that's all it is. sports fans are fickle. it's about what have you done for me lately. next time tracy scores 30, they hail him as god. next time he's injured, they all hail him as soft like charmin. it is what it is. as rocket fans, all you can do is stay patient, cheer for the players you have now, hope they go on a run, and when tracy returns, we go on a roll. he says he'll be ready to go by the end of december.
EXACTLY this guy makes me sick, he has his money and he doesn't care about winning. we as fans are suffering while he has a big smile
Nice post, especially the bolded part. TMac always steps it up in the playoffs. Take a look at his scoring avg. regular season to playoffs 04-05 25.7 to 30.7 06-07 24.6 to 25.3 07-08 21.6 to 27.0
i remember when the media turned on another houston player and the organization accused him of faking an injury.
come on people, it's december 3rd. i agree t-mac is not showing heart or fire right now, but it's so early in the season that it doesn't really matter. is it annoying? yes. will missing 3 weeks now matter in the long run? i don't think so. let's wait until late in the season/playoffs before we turn on him.
the 2nd doctor said he would miss a week to rehab and if he does come back to play, his minutes should be more limited than before. so it's still rehab. it's like rehabbing on the court -> but to tracy, that doesn't seem to help the team b/c he's so limited. tracy is just taking his rehab a step further to 2 weeks. and practice really hard to see how his knee responds in the 3rd week. if he regains his quickness/explosiveness..., then he'll resume playing at most likely normal minutes.
this needs to be emphasized. he's out with a weak injury now, whatever that's fine. as long as he's there when it counts, i'm all for tmac
