Et tu, B-Bob? Luis busts his butt every time he's on the court. He never takes a play off. Ever. No, he may not be a leaper or a shot blocker, but he plays excellent team defense, is a hell of a rebounder on both ends, and is one of our only remaining threats to score in the low post. Shame on you!

:D Admit it -- you just love his hair!
Look, I love Luis. I just thought "a flop and a hard place" was too hard to pass up. :p

I admit it! My wife loves his hair as well, she just wishes I had the hair down my back that was there when she met me. Actually, she wishes I had the volume, not the length. ;) Seriously (OK, I was being serious), Luis is her favorite player. Sure, the hair plays a part, but she just loves how he plays, as do I. We even followed some of Argentina's FIBA play, something we never did before.

B-Bob, you are one of my favorite posters because of your sense of humor (certainly not based on your "ardent" support for manned space flight!). Just keep doing what you're doing. I got it. I just couldn't pass up the dig, you dig? :p

I look forward to more of this from him... and I wish I could find that comical sequence in which Kevin Garnett was trying unsuccessfully to back Chucky down. The Boston commentator was hilarious... "Garnett's with the ball, backing down Hayes... he... can't move him."

Hmmmm, interesting. I hope to see more of it. He's got a great handle for a big guy.

Saw that with Blair in the Spurs game the other night. Once Chuck sets his feet in the block, it's like he's CrazyGlued to the court.

It's because he is a penguin. He has an extremely low center of gravity and he's strong as an ox. Long arms, quick hands, and quick feet. He is a very unique player. If he could shoot the 18 footer, he'd be making $10 million per year.

How can people not root for the guy?

    [rquoter]
Following the sting of the home loss to the Sixers, the Rockets eschewed most of a regular practice to watch video of the flop and had a team meeting.

"Players, coach, everyone," Yao said. "We were all thinking that the season is getting away if we do not start right now. It was Chuck (Hayes) who said (in the meeting), it's about how we care about our careers. How we care about being professionals.

"Everybody started thinking about that. Chuck is the guy who spoke out. I don't know I should tell you that. But it's a good thing. It was from Chuck, a guy who does not do much talking. It meant something to hear those words from him."

    Sustaining focus

Hayes didn't go into the meeting intending to have a "win one for the Gipper" moment. It just poured out of him.

"I can't remember exactly what I said," Hayes said. "I don't know if I was especially emotional. But there were a lot of emotions in that room.

"I just told everybody what was on my mind. I told them that we have to play like every game means something to us. Look, right now we're nine games above .500, and we're still barely in the last playoff spot. The Western Conference is hard. Nobody was going to give anything to us. We have to take it."

I root for Chuck Hayes' team :)

The heart and soul, baby. The heart and soul.

Blood and guts on the court, every night. Every night.

Battier stated he has to shoot if that's what Coach wants him to do.
