wow i dint think mike wud want to come bak, i thought he hated the rockets, anyways, i still dont think we will get him becuz 1. hes 31, and wanting a new contract of prolly like 4-6 years and most likely will demand more than the MLE, so i dont see us spending more than that for most likely a 6th man off the bench,

Just my thoughts after reading the article....

    1. Mike James won't accept anything less than or equal to MLE;

    2. He won't accept being the backup of Alston and he wants to be the starter of our team.

Riding on the Raptors this season, he got the opportunity to showcase his abilities to the league and yes he is the 3rd option we desperately needed. If he would accpet MLE and willing to compete with Alston for the starting PG, the organization should sign him back but I think the chance is very low and I hope I am wrong. If the discrepancies were marginal, I say we should send T Mac to talk to him.

i have heard a voice that T-mac don't like him,it's that really?cause he take possention of too many shooting opportunity? i don't know, maybe i was only a shot in the dark.
everybody know when rockets vs toronto last time,Mike James was beat up by Juwan Howard. he can get along well with JH?
maybe everything will be fine. :D

The team is offensively starved. MJ would have been a MUCH better fit than Rafer.

CD wanted MJ for years, I can not help but think that JVG & or Tmac had some personality issues with him.

There was absolutely ZERO reason for trading him for Rafer unless there was something else going on....

MJ fit the Rockets to a glove, Rafer was a reach.

    Good point.

CD has said he wouldn't have traded James if Sura didn't go down.

He shouldn't have traded him at all. I think someone is more concerned with what a typical PG is supposed to be, rather than just playing the game.

Anyone remember who the PG was on the Bulls teams, or the Celtics, or the Pistons (Billups, no Isaih), or the Lakers (Shaq & Kobe).

My point is that some teams don't require the prototypical PG to win, it is more a matter of system and chemistry than what roles people play.

Some teams do - Isaiah, Magic, Parker.

The Rockets do NOT need a typical PG, they have Tmac that is going to initiate a good percentage of offense, what they need is someone else that can score and initiate offense when Tmac is on the bench.

MJ fits that role....Rafer does not. I think the Rockets brass made a massive mistake.

"Massive" is exaggeration. We wouldn't have contended anyway with Juwan and our poor backcourt. Alston's contract barely affects us either.

Take him back & take him back NOW, b****es!

What do we have to lose, besides more games? Lots & lots of games.

If we get James, T-mac gets healthy, somehow SURA , yes SURA comes back ... + high draft pick & the slightest glimmer of hope that Cassell would want to end his career back in Houston ... woo baby, we might even win a playoff series!!!!!!

Without major changes, & I mean major, the best we can hope for is a 6-8 seed in the playoffs @ best. BEST. Too many teams in the West better than us right now.

    imo

My opinion is all moot anyway. The Rox won't take James back. For whatever reason, pride will prolly get in the way.

I would be shocked if Sura ever hits the court again.

Didn't his knee swell up every time he tried to practice? Wouldn't that imply that he is done?

I thought I read somewhere that he has very little cartlidge left, if that is the case, no amount of time will cure it.

i think sura's career is over

the time to win is now...there is no time to develop a rookie or v-span

i would even trade away the lottery pick and the 2nd rd pick for a proven nba player

bring mike james back and start him at the 2 if the rox cant find a 2 guard

Houston desperately needs another scoring threat, and Mike James really does fit the bill. The guy is high energy, plays solid defense, and hits a lot of clutch shots.

I say pay the man what he wants. I mean, he's better than Steve Francis, who makes $14 million this season.

I think the consensus here is: If he accepts MLE, bring him in. Otherwise, no thanks!"

I know Mike didn't want to get dealt, but does anyone remember James's act when that was announced? There is much to love about his game on the court(esp. his defense),but I'm not sure if James is the consummate pro some say he is.It might work out,but I also remember his refusal/inability to play the TEAM game...no offensive flow.If he would accept his role as a rotation player, fine, but I have my doubts.
