Dream fit in at the end. Said he likes the direction team is going with players that have been on team. Including the free agents, not to mention himself.

Olajuwon is better than Ewing, Olajuwon is as good as David. David is just on a better team right now. Rockets will be better soon.

If Ewing really wanted to win a championship, his best option let him go to Seattle. Ewing next option, Orlando. Tracy McGrady had good year okay he had a great year, Grant Hill waiting in the wings.
I smell a problem...Grant Hill healthy. Who plays small forward? Or shall I say point forward? I believe McGrady is same type of player as Grant...Just not as good.

The Rockets need to get enough sack and just jettison the Dream.

He was great, thanks for the memories, now move on...

I think that, when all the dust has cleared and the business is done, the houston rockets will sign hakeem olajuwon. I don't know how long a contract it will be, and I don't know how much money it will be for.

but the real issue seems to be this:

which hakeem will we get? the one who played inspired ball [perhaps when he was trying to show his skills for potential traders {traitors}], or the one who cruelly gave the entire clippers franchise unfounded hope for olowokandi? some of both?

if we get the hakeem who plays like he means something, the rockets could seriously do something this year. if we get the other hakeem, the one who doesn't seem too highly motivated anymore and who's been around more than the good hakeem, we'll do almost exactly what we did this year: be a winning team that perhaps misses the playoffs, depending on how much the jazz and suns fall off and how much the clippers improve.

why does hakeem even want to play anymore? if it was for pride, then why wouldn't he show up more often? if it's for more money, then he is a much simpler person than I'd figured. if it's for a championship, then why not just go sign for league minimum with the lakers?

I think hakeem wants to win a championship with the rockets this year while being the league mvp and while being paid big dollars. I think hakeem wants to eat a big birthday cake with his name on it and with 10 mil candles.

at least that's what I'm thinking until somebody's post changes my mind.

I also think this situation is getting funny because I think both the rockets and hakeem are negotiating out of positions of weakness.

there aren't any better center options out there for the rockets.

there aren't any better teams out there for hakeem.

so why should this be worth all this drama?

why shouldn't we expect to hear, at the first available moment tomorrow, that they've hammered out a deal that both sides are happy with?

    what is complicating this deal?
