Chronic: Texans coaches deserve much blame; Carr being Carr

    Huh? I came to the thread reading about David Carr and now it's just Mario Williams? :confused: Might as well comment on it then.

    I'm personally an advocate that football numbers matter the least among all the sports. Mainly because any one person's numbers depends so much on the quality of the team. A good example is how during the Cowboys triplet era, the 2nd receiver on Dallas always had great numbers, only to turn bust when they leave for the fat paycheck. Therea are countless other examples. Because you play with 10 other players on the field, and that basically everyone contribute to a certain extent on every given play, it's hard to quantify any one player's contribution.

    A second point is that the "rarer" the stat, the more luck is involved. For a stat that a good player averages maybe one per two games, and there's only a 16 game sample to work with... well, let's just say I don't think you can put too much stock into it.
