If only Alexander was a little bit richer, like Jerry Jones, so he can buy superstar players should they be interested. :D
But that doesnt always equal championships unfortunately. But we have a couple of stars that can complement Tmac and Yao

Someone sounds bitter... Poor JVG Lovers... Your Boy is getting trashed by everyone from the players to the owner, all the way down to the ball boy. :D

Some owners are more willing to take on risk to try to get a championship, they are gamblers, that is Les, and you have to appreciate the fact that he does not stand pat.

Sometimes what they do doesn't work out, but at least they are attempting to do something and recognize shortcomings and are willing to address them.

Not all organizations are willing to take that type of risk.

Name me one NBA owner who has been slow to fire their coach for lack of results. I didn't know firing a coach made one a "gambler."

You will no doubt cite player personnel acquisitions next as your proof of Les "trying to get to a championship." That's not the issue under debate.

At least give him credit this year for not demanding that Morey has to get below the Luxury tax threshold.

Um, I'm very happy we re-signed Mutumbo and I think he'll be able to do the job, but remember, his STATED age is 41. His real age is likely much higher. I hope after his career is over he'll come clean and we can be truly amazed at his abiltities. My guess is he's more like 48.- CF

Wait, if you agree that Les, like most owners, want his coach to produce results, then what are you faulting him for. If the coach Les sees that the coach isn't going to help him win it all, then he has the right to fire him. You said it, the previous coaches didn't give Les the results he wanted.

I'll say, Les is more fired up now than ever i think! Never went to training sesion with the Rockets until this off season. He knows his team has the best to offer.

Thank you Mr. Alexander. Now trade Rafer please! :D

Read all of the posts first before you jump into an argument. The fault with Les isn't that he fired JVG but that he is a snake who lied about the entire affair to cover his own ass. I would have had no problem with him had he flat out openly fired Van Gundy.

If you hate Les Alexander- whatever-I was a Rocket fan when we had Charlie Thomas as an owner. His GM was RAy Patterson- good to very good- then later Steve Patterson. They wasted Hakeem Olajuwons' prime years not building a team around him. Sad sad days

    Alexander is the better owner
