I don't see why. Morey is the one that controls Toronto's faith. They either lose Bosh for nothing or perhaps they agree to work with Houston, get maybe one NY picks, our lottery pick, expiring contracts (maybe throw in Ariza) and hell give them Jermaine if they want him.

Houston can play hard ball and I'm sure if Bosh wants to come to Houston, there will be even more pressure to get something done.

If Bosh makes it clear he wants to come to Houston we are in real good shape, but if not I imagine there will be a lot of offers to compete with, expiring contracts and a possibly mediocre draft pick won't get it done, but hopefully i'm wrong and Jordan Hill, Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries and draft picks will be enough.

I will say this, if Bosh nods to a trade to Houston, I can't imagine that we won't be able to obtain him. We have everything Toronto might want. We have more and better draft picks than any other possible destination. We have young talent in various positions. We have expiring contracts. If Morey deems the value we give up worthy of Bosh, I think we'll get it done.

The Lakers could offer Bynum. If the Lakers get Bosh, they will be almost unbeatable. And I think Bynum is more attractive to Toronto than any of our assets.

i dont want bosh or amare. i think the knicks picks will be very high. and could end up getting a player as good as bosh in the draft.

For one thing, I don't believe Bosh really would want to go to the Lakers, given he likes to be "the man" if possible. Also, Bynum is a much bigger RISK than what the Rockets can offer, because he has laziness issues and a big contract. Whereas if they get CBud, Brooks, and/or Hill from us, these are players who still need to play hard for their big contracts. Plus with picks, they have more say so in who to get.

    Bigger risk?

What if the Rockets offered Yao?

You fail to mention that Rockets aren't the only other team in the NBA. We have attractive assets, but maybe other teams do aswell. I don't know the other rosters in the NBA as well as my beloved Rox.

Can anyone out there let us know who are our biggest competitors for Bosh? Who has great assets on their roster like us?

^One possible suitor is OKC, which has some but not max caps pace(meaning Toronto don't need go take back as much deadweight in contracts). And if Bosh doesn't mind playing 2nd fiddle to Durant, that's definitely more attractive from a winning perspective than Houston.

The Rockets won't offer Yao. Morey can talk whatever he wants about how no one's untouchable. But Yao is untouchable unless the Rockets feel he just can't make it back anymore.

I wonder if the other GMs don't want to deal w Morey for fear of getting punked like the Knicks or Spurs...

How did Morey punk NY and SA?

Without Morey, Walsh would not have room for 2 max deals. He would've had to tell Lebron to go to NY with only David Lee as his sidekick.

Without Morey, Scola would simply be in Europe right now, while the Spurs would've gotten nothing for him. And their owner would be ~$10 mil poorer because of luxury tax payments and paying for that fat guy whose name escapes me at the moment.

Morey has never made a deal where the other side got punked. They all got what they wanted. That's how deals are suppose to work. So far, all of Morey's deals have been "win win". If anything, NBA GMs should love to deal with Morey.

Just my opinion after talking to some very astute Spurs fans, they are still smarting a bit over doing that Scola trade. The rockets benefited more than the Spurs from a basketball perspective.

Morey's odds are a little high. It's more like try to trade up and fail again like they did with Brandon Roy and Rudy Fernandez. Morey's 50/50 is a 0/100.

If we could land Bosh it would be awesome. If we could somehow get him and get out from under the Yao injury albatross it would be even better. I like Yao but I have reached my limit on injuries with him.
