i'm not upset, butler is good but not gonna win us a championship. i'd rather have IGGY anyway, and if we can't get him either, then let's sign a player or two in the summer. just let the contract expire.

if nothing happens, i might be a little upset because i believe with our current roster, we won't make the playoffs, even if we do, we'll be swept in the first round.

if that's the case, wouldn't be better to tank and get a legit lottery pick. maybe a center? someone over 6'9?

He also got us a bunch of horrible contracts that for years, hampered our ability to make serious moves at trade deadlines and in free agency.

 

Jesus, the Mavs are in win-now mode and had a better offer on the table since the Wizards wanted to reload with a rotation player. Under the right circumstances, Butler's a nice player, but I think Morey's right not to throw in one of our young assets if other deals are out there. We'll see. It wouldn't surprise me if nothing significant happened since there is so much uncertainty about the possibility of a hard and reduced cap with the next CBA. I think Morey is working this like they did in Boston. They are collecting assets to make major moves. Caron Butler does not qualify as that.

 

Why not Luol Deng? I know he has a big contract, but they could get a big ( Miller ) with him. It will be like the Phillie deal but with better scorers.
