[CHRONIC] Man snatches Cowboys flag in D.C., gets punch in face

    WASHINGTON — Police say a man was punched in the face after grabbing a Dallas Cowboys flag from a car in downtown Washington.

    D.C. police Lt. Eric Hayes says someone snatched the flag from a car as it was stopped in traffic Tuesday evening and apparently threw it to the ground.

    Police and witnesses say that by the time the man crossed the street, someone exited the car and struck him in the face before driving away.

    Police say the incident may have been motivated by team loyalty, or the motorist might not have wanted anyone to touch his car.

    Police say a man was taken from the scene to be treated for a bruised forehead.

    stupid to grab something off someone else's car. there are TONS of cowboys fans out here considering it's Redskins nation..

    Theft and Vandalism. Charge the guy that got punched, that would be funny. Oh well. I don't hate the Boys. Just don't care about em. I do hate Dallas though.

    Amen! How the hell is this even news? I mean seriously. Some guy got punched. O really. Your telling me some guy on the other side of the country got punched and it's news worthy. O really. If that is news they should go to my old high school, because someone got punched there every day.

    actually, i don't know if it's an east coast thing...but every 20th car seems to have a football flag on their car out here. And it's almost exclusively either Redskins (70%), Cowboys (10%), or Steelers (20%)
