Dude, who was it that said that he wished that T-Mac spent as much time defending the ball as you did defending him in every single thread where somebody criticized him? I'm not the only guy that's pointed out your unnatural love for T-Mac.
What in the world?!?! Are you serious???? The whole point of this 40 post argument is your account of the PAST IE: Tracy's career, Tracy's history with the Rockets. Please don't tell me this is all a big joke and you are heypartner with a fake account. I've wasted too much time in this thread already. lol ok. must be nice not having to operate within the confines of basic logic. i am an advocate of anything i defend in an argument. okay. i guess alleged perpetrators don't have a right to due process unless they're perceived as innocent and are likable. i would hate to get you as my defense attorney. Kobe's been just as big a douche throughout his career, but you overlook that because he miraculously became a superstar 2 years ago. lol. to my knowledge, i haven't heard tracy trash a teammate to the degree kobe trashed bynum in that video, or forced out someone he won 3 championships with, or refused to take a shot in the second half of a playoff game.... and on and on and on....
The difference is that McGrady has failed in 7 tries across three teams. Yao's only gotten three shots. And Yao is the centerpiece to the Rockets' offense right now. You just never understood what I or some of the other guys were talking about when we said that you use Yao to create for his team and that's more important than him scoring 30 every night.
well going by your logic, at least give the guy some damn love for getting his team to the playoffs. yao couldn't do that.
A better question is why it's even relevant? If you're simply going to dismiss what someone says because of their username, then don't bother communicating with them in the first place.
I'm not the one who accused the other guy of having an irrational hatred for McGrady or whatever. That would be you. I'm just pointing out that that's a little hard to take coming from guys with some permutation of "T-Mac is great" in their nicks. You may not believe this, but I don't hate McGrady. I don't respect him as a player or a person, but why would any rational person? He's not respected by his peers in the league. There were media reports last year that somebody in the Detroit locker room dubbed him "Half-man, Half-a-season". He's never won anything. His drama queen antics this year damaged the Rockets. Frankly I just want to see him gone and his salary used to strengthen the team.
check the usage rating. it's 26.8 (same as 04-05). yao is touching the ball less and creating less for his teammates this year as a whole than even last yr and is tied for 04-05. and it's probably less since mcgrady went down. yes yao is still our best player. but the team has changed its approach. we're not going to the same player for more than 2-3 possessions straight at most. the balance is impeccable. we're not reliant on yao one single bit offensively anymore. he has gone out several games since tmac went down due to fouls or just to get some rest and we dont' miss a single beat. we're going for more of the detroit pistons route and hopefully that will pay off for us. and i'm optimistic it will. i've always said this was the right way to use yao. don't force-feed the ball into him. he can't handle that responsibility of having the entire offense go around him. and yao's doing a great job focusing more on defense instead. his shotblocking has gone up along with rebounding. that is what we need from yao and he's doing well. hopefully he'll keep it up.
You're coming in late. They were the ones who were accusing me of harboring some kind of irrational hatred for McGrady. I'm just pointing out that that's a little ironic coming from guys who clearly have a thing for the guy.
if your criticisms are valid, i wouldn't be defending the guy. but your logic is out there bro....read some of them.
Thankyou for answering my question. I am very tempted to put this in my signature now. How exactly would you suggest that the injured Sura, Wesley, and Jon Barry create? This is getting beyond absurd. With the quickness and playmaking abilities they possessed? This is really too much. And I am willing to bet good money that you were among the masses here that raised hell over the alleged Mike James "wave off" of T-Mac and claimed he hogged that series. Good money.
wow now that is just straight up hate right there. this is why i respond to some of these posts b/c criticisms like that are just ridiculous. 1) you do NOT know him as a person. you have never talked, hung out or done anything with the guy. 2) you do NOT know him as a father or a son or whatever. 3) and apparently, you do not know the phrase, "tmac is one of the most philanthropic individuals in the league" and that came from deke. so when i see irrational comments like that, yes i'll respond. b/c that IS a hateful comment. what he has done is basketball-related. not life-related.
Don't forget that T-mac failed to get those real talented Orlando teams out the 1st Round, you know that team full of all-star players.
Tracy's a career loser. Tracy's a bad fit for the Rockets and their offense. I'd say that those are both good reasons to ship his ass out because they're both relevant to his current and future performance with the team. Nope, you're in his fan club because you freak out for no reason when somebody attacks the guy. Like in this thread. Gee, so because Kobe's a douche it's okay if T-Mac's a douche? Great logic. And I'm no Kobe fan. In fact I genuinely dislike the guy. But unlike T-Mac Kobe's a winner.
When I said that I was specifically thinking of the Horace Grant controversy in Orlando and the rumor about Bonzi Wells.
What exactly are you talking about? Yao's missed one game this season. He hasn't "gone out several games". And again, the idea is to have Yao draw the double in the paint and then kick the ball out. When Feigen and Blinebury at the Chronicle talk about retooling the Rockets' offense around Yao that's what they mean. Like it or not the offense is keying off of him. And that's actually been a problem since when he's on the bench the Rockets have really had some problems creating.
look man, this is my last post to you b/c you really hate the guy so it's getting nowhere discussing this with ya. but let me give you something to think about. this is sports. you don't use something in sports and what they do to judge them as a person. unless they get in trouble with the law and do bad things in life that justify their character, no fan knows who those athletes are and how they carry themselves in life. tracy may or may not be a good person. he's one of the most charitable athletes we know (besides our very own deke) and he's one of the leaders in a HUGE effort in darfur. it's like am i to say stephon marbury is a bad person b/c what he did with the knicks? no. he's a player i don't respect. but i don't know him outside of the NBA realm to judge him and what he does b/c i've heard of his charitable deeds and what he has done. keep basketball and life separate bro.
Haha wow I can't believe someone would even say that. Spoiler Obviously, this was all T-Mac's fault because he wasn't allowing the role players to create more. If only that cancerous ball-hogger let Sura (playing with a flu, on an IV), a washed up Barry, washed up Wesley, Scott Padgett, Ryan f'n Bowen, and the pseudo-PG James (who got ejected) take more shots! They all combined for 6-32 from the field.
Good grief, you are the one who just asked why the past was relevant at all. Now you're coming back to the present. this is too much. lol wow. it's sad that this is what your argument has watered down to. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? You JUST said "Gee, so maybe the fact that he's a douchebag might negatively impact his relations with his teammates? Maybe that's part of the reason he's never won anything? Or is this douchebaggery a recent development on Tracy's part?" making the claim that being a douchebag is prohibitive of team success. i'm destroying that point with the example of kobe. Okay, this is getting way too ridiculous. That your argument has essentially come down to an amalgamation of me being in tracy's fan club, attacking those guys' usernames, and bewilderedly questioning the relevance of the past mere seconds after making blanket claims about tracy's career BASED on the past, i have to respectfully bow out of this thread. this is just getting way too absurd.
