[CHRONIC] Four Rockets players on edge awaiting roster cuts

If we can pay Barry to retire, I don't see how disposing of Joey is too difficult. Can we trade him to Memphis for a dollar, or a second rounder, or whatever? If not, just cut him and pay him off. Sorry Les. From what I've seen, Cook is more valuable, both financially and basketball-wise, than Joey.

If we can dispose of Barry and Joey, that leaves our present 15-man roster at:

1 AB KL WC
2 CB JT (TM)
3 SB TA
4 LS CL PM BC
5 CH DA (YM)

Not a bad running team-- and if those parenthetical guys come back strong and scrappy, who knows, we might be contenders.

No telling what DM's angling for down the road. Bosh at the four? Leunen to replace Cook? I like both those ideas, but the business aspects of such player moves, as always, confound me. IMIT.

 

sad to hear about these cuts. Hopefuly we can cut Barry so we can keep both Pops and Conroy. If it did come to one, it looks as if Pops may be that one.

The Rockets made their first roster cuts of the preseason Wednesday, releasing guards Garrett Temple and Romel Beck.

Both played limited minutes in the preseason and showed enough in practices that they were kept on the roster heading into the last week before the regular season.

Not including Brent Barry, who will be dealt or released before the season, the Rockets must still make one cut to have the roster at 15 players by Monday’s deadline.
