[CHRONIC] ESPN's Andrews secretly videotaped nude in hotel

Yeah so... this fixation over Erin Andrews has officially reached its creepy stage. According to TMZ:

There is the whole aspect of her privacy being violated by criminals following her around.

Generating publicity or making money isn't all that matters.

 

I think TMZ is dead wrong. Don Chavez, the guy who's blog I posted, is pointing towards it being an employee at a hotel in Alabama (Birmingham) and he's been more thorough than anybody else.

It couldn't be an ESPN employee because there were videos of other women in the same or similar rooms over a span of months.

 

If it wasn't an employee, can't they just check to see who was staying in that other room at the time this was filmed?

i feel pretty bad for her. esp considering the fact that she is a reporter and not an actress or some crazy socialite.

Erin Andrews video spreads virus on Web

Some links to a video of an ESPN reporter undressing in her hotel room carry a computer virus, according to a security analyst.

Graham Cluley, a senior technology consultant at Sophos, a computer security company, told CNN that the viral video of Erin Andrews gives hackers an opportunity to compromise Mac and PC machines.

Someone reportedly shot the video of Andrews through her hotel room’s peephole. A lawyer for Andrews says the reporter — voted “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster” last year by Playboy magazine — was unaware she was being taped, according to CNN affiliate WESH.

“There was a genuinely huge news story about this poor woman who had been filmed this way, and the hackers jumped on that and thought, ‘Fantastic, everyone is going to be looking for this, let’s create fake Web sites and infect them,’” Cluley said.

It’s unclear how many people have been infected with the virus or if computers have been harmed by the incident, Cluley said. The virus gets on computers when people try to play the video of Andrews, he said. A message asks Internet users to download a video player and a virus instead infects their machines, he said.

The virus gives hackers the ability to do just about whatever they want with your computer, Cluley said.

Searches for the naked video of Andrews were spiking this morning on Google, according to Google Trends. The two hottest searches on the site are related to the video.

Cluley urged people not to look for the clip.

“If you want to look at naked women buy yourself an adult magazine or go and get yourself a girlfriend,” he said. “Searching on the Web is a really dangerous thing to do.”

Writing for CNET, a CNN.com content partner, Chris Matyszczyk says the video first was uploaded to the French site DailyMotion.fr.

“Naturally, it then wandered across the Internet like a rodent in search of Camembert,” he writes.

The video is flying across the Web on social networks, Cluley said, adding that shortened Web links, such as those from tinyurl.com and bit.ly, add to the problem because Internet users can’t tell where the links go until they click them.

Firefox users can download a longurl add-on to address that problem, he said.

It's not just her though, multiple women have been taped by the same guy. Ignoring it means letting this guy continue to do what he's been doing unchecked.


People who even try to entertain that this is some PR move are morons, I'm just going to lay that out there.

What does she gain from this? Dancing with the Stars? Kenny Mayne was just a guy known to ESPN watchers and he ended up on there. Playboy as vinsensual alluded to? Lisa Guerrero did Playboy after she had been fired by Fox Sports which is way less popular than ESPN and she got a cover.

I know there have been some people who have leaked sex tapes on purpose, but just because a handful of women have done it doesn't mean all women are capable of it.

 

I actually downloaded the video from the thread that is now deleted, but I can't open it in Windows Media Player. I tried downloading the codec, but Microsoft says I should already have it. I won't post it back up here because there is no reason to get this thread deleted.

 

Exactly. IF she did this, she could have just as much buzz by doing the same thing, but just topless. I have a hard time believing she would show all her goods for a pr stunt when she didn't have to. The person who did this will get caught I believe.

 

I'm still trying to figure out how someone prances around hotel rooms ironing and doing hair naked all the time.. she must really love her body.

To think this was staged is just stupid.

Erin can call up Hugh any time of the day and get a photo shoot if she wanted. Oski's angle looks like the most likely scenario. Clearly a lot of work went into getting this video. Very creepy and criminal.

 

Most of the girls I've dated have been naked a lot of the time. It isn't that odd, really.

And I know she has to act outraged, but honestly, it isn't like she was caught in a lewd act. She was caught naked. BFD. I've been naked in front of 300 people before.

No biggie, IMO.
