Hill is the center piece all the other player are expiring contracts so Hill being on his rookie contract set this move for down the line 2 or 3 years from now...I would rather do the move that Bulls have on the table and get Brad Miller, Tyrus & Salmons for T-Mac and others. Miller (12.5 Million/expire), Tyrus (4.5 Million/expire) and Salmons (5 Million this year and next).

JORDAN HILL IS THE CENTER PIECE IN MOREY EYES

    Let's get it over with!

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ylhjugt

=> Knicks get T-Mac, their main goal ... Cook and Oberto are just expiring contracts and will "replace" Harrington and Hill.

=> Wizards wanted Harrington, when they discussed the trade that would get us Butler and Haywood. With this trade they still have a shot to make him a Wizard. Scola is our price to get Jamison. Hughes "replaces" Miller and he also has an expiring contract.

=> Rockets get a young and high prospect in Hill. Jamison provides this team with experience and leadership, his numbers are still very nice. Miller gives us a "true" SG instead of 'Battriza'.

    * Rockets line-up:
    C: Hayes/Anderson/Dorsey (and Yao)
    PF: Jamison/Landry/Hill
    SF: Ariza/Battier
    SG: Miller/Budinger/Taylor
    PG: Brooks/Lowry

Uh, no they can't. Bima posted that the Rockets can save ~8million by dealing McGrady for NY's expiring contracts. That's ~8M that wouldn't be available if we kept McGrady. They're going to be buying picks as is, and a trade with NY only helps facilitate this.

I'd be open to a tip jar bet that the Rockets wouldn't get anything more than Hill or Douglas from the Knicks. It's hard for me to make a bet outside of that, because... you're not offering up any other trades. You're just saying, "I don't know what it is, but there's a better deal out there, I'm sure!" -- without offering any evidence/rumors to substantiate it.

You know last year people were saying the same thing, right?
"Why'd we trade Rafer just for a guy who couldn't play for the Grizzlies. This trade suxoorrsss!!!!"
Morey wants to think long-term, and acquiring cheap assets is part of it, which Jordan Hill is. I don't have a problem trading in order to get Jordan Hill and to get under LT which we can do with trading with New York, while with Chicago we would get expiring contracts and that's it. Logic easily dictates that expiring contracts + Jordan Hill is better than expiring contracts, so let's get a deal with New York.

You talking future....NEXT YEAR when Yao comes back where will Jordan Hill minutes come from. You didn't answer that question. If you talking bout til the end of this year.Hayes, Landry, Scola & Andersen getting all the big minutes until season ends. Trade doesn't make sense BASKETBALL WISE

Yao will not get 28-35 minutes per game if the team is smart. And they are smart. He will probably get 20-25. Landry would be fine with around 30, and Hill would take the rest. Unless we sign another backup center, Hayes and Andersen would probably take the other half of the minutes at center.

Trading for a PF but doesn't want to give up a PF but gives away a wing player?? Am i missing something??

Morey wants these young talented players but doesn't want to give up anything good.. Doesn't he know if you want something good you have to give up something good??

All these rumors or whatever it is is backfiring on the Rockets. IMHO i believe if they truely were done with McGrady they should have showcased him MORE than what they did. Yeah still give him is 8 mins a game but let him play in more than 6 games.

Now it seems like they are having a tough time trading him away.

That's all T-mac's fault. If he would've just kept his mouth shut he probably would be playing.

what big man you know who makes 17,000,000+ only play 20-25 mpg?? I think you are putting too much into Hill when in the 2010 draft there will be more polished guys coming out like Monroe, Pittman & Aldrich (just to name a few).

sources told KPRC Local 2 February 12 and again Sunday night that McGrady, who is in Chicago, is preparing for a trade to the Knicks.

Generally speaking, McGrady's contract is that "something good." Unfortunately, it's of little use to the Knicks as we refuse to take back any of their longer contracts. In this case, the "something good" is the ability to evaluate McGrady until the season's end and possibly be the frontrunner to sign him for cheap this off-season. If they were able to get McGrady cheap, they could then try to lock up someone like Amare and build around the McGrady/Amare/DLee combo.

Nothing has backfired, you're just impatient. The Rockets have said all along that it would take until the deadline for a deal to get done. I'd venture to say McGrady could be traded right now to the Knicks for their expiring contracts and a 2nd round pick, which would save the Rockets around ~8 million to use in buying picks/trades.

Point is: they're not having a tough time trading him away, they're waiting to the deadline to get the best possible offers from teams before deciding which to take.

As fans we don't know who fault it is. We don't know what is happening behind closed doors. We can only assume and then make rumors out of it. It could be his fault or managements fault. We don't know.

McGrady has opened his mouth numerous of times. Now when his contract is over they want to go down this road?? Rafer opened his mouth last year and said the team was divided or something like that. I don't remember the exact thing he said but he shouldn't have came out his mouth.. Yao has called this team soft n the past and the player fed off his words and decided to play better. McGrady says what he believes and voices his opinion and its his fault. wow.

My thing is if Management like i said are fed up with him they should have turned the other cheek and played him more. Show case him much more so teams can actually see what he has left. They probably wouldn't be so hesitate to pull the trigger. But it is what it is. 3 more days and we will all know exactly whats going to happen

    WAITING!!!! NO TIME TO WAIT

they already missed out on Iggy/ Dalembert, Caron/Haywood/Stevenson, and there are new reports that a three way w/ Lakers-Blazers-Bulls is being rumored by Chad Ford of ESPN. If we keep on waiting we gonna end up with trash upon trash

JUST SAY NO TO HILL...AND YES TO MILLER & TYRUS

We are in 9th place, trading for Hill basically says you throwing un the towel
