[CHRONIC] Do you like Jordan Hill? He could be Morey's price for doing a McGrady deal

You may be right, but I'm still hoping for a better ending to the McGrady drama for Houston.

Brad Miller($12.3), Jerome James($6.6), Tim Thomas($6.5), Pargo($2), Lindsey Hunter ($1.3), and Devin Brown($1.1) expire this year. That's about $29.8 million in salary cap relief already. If they renounce Tyrus Thomas($6.3 qualifying offer), that's $36 million in salary cap relief.

I doubt Chicago wants him for strictly salary cap reasons. They have plenty already of salary cap relief already. There are only 3 players that make more than $5mil year that's signed for the next 2 seasons, Deng, Rose, and Hinrich.

If they want salary cap relief, they would have trade those players away, since trading the other players would make no difference to the salary cap.

Agreed. Hill does not help us. Now if we could ship him and some expirings Philly for Iggy, Dalembert, and Speights, I'd be interested in that. Or Hill, Lowry and expirings plus our draft pick to Minny for Big Al and Ramon Sessions.

I'm not sure why you're so convinced that we had a good deal on the table. For what we know, the other teams could have been asking for our core players and Morey refused.

If Morey was allowed to make the Iguodala trade, he probably would. I'm convinced that Les doesn't wanna pay 20 million for Dalembert, and I don't blame him.

For those looking back at draft projections, remember that draft projections didn't have AB nor Landry amount to much. The important thing isn't what we think of him, but what Morey projects him to be. If he deems Hill worthy of potentially be a great PF, then you'd think there's a good chance he would be.

For T-Mac? Seriously? I can understand you may not think Hill is worth taking on Jefferies or Curry's contract. But simply for T-Mac?

If T-Mac is worth more than that, the Rockets would be playing him right now.

Hill looked pretty terrible to me in that draft workout video. Are we surprised that the Knicks might make a bad pick?

Who has the higher vertical? Yao or Jordan Hill?

The guy who said Chris Bosh makes me laugh. They both have dreads and are the same height, so they must be about the same player?

I thought that was pretty stupid myself. He isn't even in the class below Bosh athletically.

he works hard with the minutes he recieve....why would you trade for Jordan Hill when Yao comes back then he will sit on the bench again (Yao & DA at the 5) all in all its not a smart move too make so JUST TRADE FOR MILLER AND TYRUS AND WASH YOUR HANDS!!!

Switch out Hill and put in a NY lottery pick. Now, we are talking. You can't convince me that Hill is the Rocket's primary target . He's a sweetner. That's all.

Donnie Walsh is the guy who drafted him and he's got a great track record of drafting great players.

People used to say Danny Granger was a bust, now look at him. Walsh drafted him.

Clearly you're not up to date on why Chicago needs to move Hinrich or Salmons to have the right amount of capspace for this off season. Since you're not paying attention, Chicago has $38 Mil of contracts guaranteed for next year. The cap is going to drop again this summer. Stern made this point pretty clear when he said the NBA is forcast to lose $400 Million dollars this year. Guess what that means for teams that are trying to sign max players? They need to get rid of more guaranteed contracts so they can have money. For Chicago to be able to make a max offer and be able to sign other players, they have to get rid of Salmons or Kirk's contract. How about them apples???

Why do you think Chicago has been linked to trade with the Lakers for their expiring contracts for Hinrich?

He's an extremely discounted version of Chris Bosh. Especially on athletecism/(Speed/Quickness). They have the same type of game its just a comparison of Chris Bosh is in his prime and Jordan Hill is just starting/extremely raw version of him. Extremme! and raw does not mean he will be Chris Bosh in the future he could very well be a bust. Who knows?

If the sole purpose of getting Hill is acquiring cheap rookie that can be a back up PF or trade fodder, it's a total waste.

Brooks, Budinger, Scola, Landry, Donte Greene were drafted later than Hill, but they have more trade value than him.

Morey has shown that, they can pick draft talent that's better than Hill in the 20s and 30s.

Don't tell me that Hill has more value, because he was a lottery pick. Budinger and Donte Greene have more trade value as late draft picks than Hill does as a lottery pick.

I've been hoping the same thing. But it looks more and more like McGrady's value (as a player or as a contract) is not that great. :( I hope I am wrong.
