Probably Rudy Fernandez (or Sean Williams/Bellinelli)....but darn those Trailblazers just opened up their pocekt book and bought into a first rounder. Wished we had those deep pockets.

By the way, I didn't see Kidd and Kobe pulling Lucas aside to give him advice.

Morey or Adelman? Adelman virtually spent a year following Brooks's game.

Rudy Fernandez? Lol, I hope not. I'm guessing who we wanted either like you said, Sean Williams or Morris Almond who was taken by Utah the pick before us.

Well, Morey said after the draft that they were trying to trade up for Rudy.

Sorry, don't believe that. Morey has no incentive reveal what their actual intentions were to the public. But he does have every incentive to misdirect everyone at this point regarding their intentions. I happen to believe their target was Sean Williams and when he was gone, they were looking at alternatives through trading VSpan for a PF and using their pick to acquire Brooks. Morey is smart, and part of smart is deception.

I think he's a lot like Monta Ellis, with a few differences ... not (yet) as good a finisher around the basket, but with a better outside shot and more playmaking ability.

I DO NOT want to see Deron Williams eat him alive. There is no way he can defend Deron at this point.........none at all. Deron will flat abuse him on the defensive end.

Let's not go overboard here.... we went a bit overboard with Spanoulis and look where that got us.

Brooks won't see much time this year with SF3, James, and Alston ahead of him, but he has shown some promise for the future. I think Morey said that we shouldn't expect the 26th pick to contribute immediately anyway. I would not expect too much out of him this year. At least I don't think he'll flake like Spanoulis did.

Doesn't have to be this year. I just want to see him do it. I'm pretty sure that he can abuse Deron with his speed.

I'd just hope that AB2 will remain humble and hardworking unlike nate rob who likes to show boat and get into trouble

It'll be a draw, since Deron can't hold Brooks either. That's better than Rafer, last year.

    AB2?

why is that? he does not put on the no.2 shirt.......

SF3, is short form thus because steve francis have the no.3 on his back during his rox days, and he still have them now. :)

Straight posting up I agree, but there are plenty of other ways that Brooks can beat Deron defensively with his speed. Should be fun to watch when he gets his chance, though.

Nobody can really hold Deron. Heck he put up 26PPG 8APG on 54% shooting against the Spurs, about the best perimeter defensive team and who have Parker and Bowen at their disposal.

If Brooks is in there, if neccesary, have the other guard cover Deron. James, Francis, maybe even Tmac, those are probably are bets shots to slow Deron if Rafer is gone. That said, Brooks, being quicker than anybody we had last year, might do a better job of staying in front of the pure quick guys like Paul, Parker, Barbosa (though he gives up height here, Barbosa doesn't really use his length, yet), etc.

I agree with that. I think Brooks can be very adequate against those guys and a much better matchup against them than anybody else on the roster. But when you talk about guys like Deron and Chauncey, fuhged it. You've got to go with James or Francis defensively and hope for the best or you've got to bring help on the postups because they eat his lunch.

That would be excellent if Deron took Brooks inside and tried to post him up which is not a strength of any point guard not named Gary Payton and maybe a few others who work on it. Deron does not so he would be taken out of his comfort zone of playing off of 25 picks in one series so he can get to the rack. I am not saying Deron is a great player but having him post up instead of Boozer would be a godsend and the Jazz would be worse off if they did not play their game.
