I think there's still a lot of room to improve. After all, he has improved a ton since last year. Anyone else notice that his floater is much better than Rafer's?
out of position? chuck is always in position on defense. The games against San Antonio there was a reason Juwan never gaurded Timmy, it was either shane or chuck. Chuck may be smaller but he uses his speed and lower body strength to bother the other player. Chuck was the only person capable of slowing duncan down a lil bit.
also that post up move he does. where he posts his man up does a quick spin move and does a jump hook. Every time ive seen that move it has gone in....
is that right? is it you have had to play with a team for 3 years? or can you be signed during your 3rd year. Also im sure mutumbo has bird rights so that means we have the full MLE and the LLE.
He doesn't need a jumpshot. He's doing fine on his cuts to the basket. Both Yao and Tmac know how to find him when they're doubled. What he really needs is to improve on his FT shooting.
I'm almost 100% sure Chuck will be a Rocket again, because: 1. He'll be affordable: Sure he's a great rebounder, and good a few other things, too... but he's a 6'6'' PF and is liable to foul out in 20 minutes every game. Teams just don't overpay guys like that. Look at Reggie Evans and you'll get an idea what Chuck is likely to be looking at. I think something like a 3-4 year contract with 3.5-4 mil a year would be reasonable. 2. He has his Chinese shoe contract: I'm pretty sure there is a "Contract void if you are not showering with Yao Ming after games" clause. It may not be more than a few hundred K right now, but that's still something to think about... besides, he will have other marketing opportuniteis if he keeps playing well next to Yao. 3. Even if the Rockets have any kind of luxury tax concerns, I still think they sign Chuck and try to move other pieces. I think Juwan might be moved, for example.
Unfortunately, that's the only move he has. He needs to add an up and under or something. Chuck is so small that he's trying to get his shot off as quickly as possible before the defense has a chance to set and possibly block it. He has a tendency to rush his move. This is an area he can improve. With more experience, he should pick up some counter moves down low. With more experience, his fouls should go down and (hopefully) the free throw shooting should improve. He's still a young, relatively inexperienced player. He hasn't reached his ceiling yet.
Chuck started playing better before Yao returned. For a while he was in the wilderness but he's back to being productive.

Chinese shoe contract pretty much locks Hayes here. I dont see any other team would offer Hayes more than 1.5 mil.
WTF. At the end of the clip it shows Chuck making a jumper without that ugly ass hitch. Where did that hitch come from if he didn't have it in college?
He's had ever since he's been with the Rockets. I hope he wasn't getting some bad advice in the D-league.
Yeah, he dunked on a fast break a few games back. But he's never done anything close to a put back dunk. I hope it's just a matter of him getting used to the speed of the game, and not that he's lost his ability to do that. Chuck looked like Charles Barkley in those college clips. But highlight clips tend to do that.
I've seen him do it once, on a transition fast break earlier this year. Other than that, I'm not sure.
