Yes, this team isn't as good as people think when one of the 3 stars are missing.

Good news! I'll be there for this one. Wizards are terrible and I look forward to not having to see Haywood block every other shot Yao throws up.

We need more 3 pt shooting. T-mac should stick to jacking up 3's, and Yao should start shooting them too. Barry should keep shooting since hes making almost all his. Rafer should shoot his only when hes wide open because thats when hes missing, i mean making most of his shots.

I had posted in one of the other threads that the reason Yao hasn't been playing as well as last year was his limited practices. I don't want him to get injured but I would go back to his old practice regimen to see if his game day play gets better.

Here is my concern: according to titan which is one of the most trustful chinese media (unlike sina, titan would never let a unproved news go out), on Tuesday night Yao was told by keith that he is gonna to miss 3 months.

As you can imagine, that news almost drived Yao crazy. But a moment later before Yao went to bed, he got another call from keith told him that he only needs to rest for one month. well, that sounds much better but is still a pretty long time. Then on Wednesday morning, Yao went to the hospital and got the updated news from the doctor that he only needs 3 days!

To me that whole story was just radiculous. Everybody makes mistake, but a mistake from 3 months to 3 days is something unacceptable. How am I supposed to trust the medical staff of the rockets again since knowing that they could be wrong that badly?

So back the article. I think Yao has been rusty for 3 reasons.

    1. Yao has not fully recovered from the foot injury
    2. Still adjusting to his new training program
    3. He has nobody to push him in practice ( nobody = Deke)

I mean seriously. How is he gonna really get a good practice in with Chuck Scolandry gaurding him.

Dorsey should be able to give him a good push.

Physically able to, I'm sure. But as far as the mental aspect of "veteran play" , (i.e body positioning, footwork, mechanics) I don't think Dorsey can push Yao that much.

this is what yao should have been doing long time ago. stay healthy throughout the regular season and dominate the post seaon, like what shaq did...

here's the real question. is Yao Ming's foot as good as it's going to be until he shuts it down? is he's still showing signs of his stress fracture, than it's not something that can ever heal by playing through it. all they can do is try to slow down the impending re-fracturing of his foot.

i think that he should just rest for another month to be safe, while still doing plenty of non weight-bearing exercises. what's the worse that the Rockets could do in December? the strongest western team they play are the Hornets on the road, which is likely a game they will lose anyway, although still quite winnable even without Yao. the next strongest teams are Utah, Cleveland, Denver and Atlanta, none of them exactly powerhouses. the Rockets should have no reason for not going 10-10 the next 20 games, even without Yao entirely and T-Mac on limited minutes provided they get Battier back and Artest starts shooting better. there will be no better opportunity this season for Yao and even T-Mac to get healthier.

can they still give us the MRI results though?

what did it reveal that he needed 3 days of rest?

they need to take an MRI of yao's foot every 2 weeks to be safe. his foot is not trustworthy.

Can you read? He said 'unproved news'.

Anyone who has half a brain should be able to tell that it means unverified/unconfirmed news. So when he said "unlike sina, titan would never let a unproved news go out", he meant to say "unlike sina, titan would never let an unverified news go out". Have I laid it out clear enough for you now.

And one more thing, stop trying to bring up politics in the GARM. It's fools like you who keep wanting to turn this forum upside down.

I'd rather him sit this one out and come back for the Magic. I'd be pissed if I can't see a Yao/Dwight matchup.
