Q&A with artest. it seems the yao comments are kinda being blown out of proportions. it's also hilarious to see artest so ready fit in with yao/t-mac and the rest.
Yao is as diplomatic as they come. I don't know what he says to the other players behind closed doors, but he didn't mean to say anything provocative. What disturbs me, kind of, is something that Scola said: He played against him three times, but he has recollections of a fourth time that never happened. Obviously a reference to some alternative universe.
Much ado about nothing. Our team is among the least in which you have to worry about chemistry. Once training camp starts and Yao sees how good of a player and teammate Artest is, all the other stuff goes out the window. Not an issue at all, just more of an example of how the media loves to play up controversy.
Man good job by the houston press making yao look bad now. ESPN even picked it up and sensationalized the title. I really wish yao took scola's approach to answering about artest. Yao needs to call artest and clear this up.
Yao's response is very typical chinese, worries something that havent happened and always concern about the history. Scola's was more positive, who cares about the past and both of them dont know much about Artest so they shouldnt comment much at the moment!
The sacbee article speaking to Artest has opened up a can of worms now. Artest has really put it out there he wants a commitment from the Rockets long term and this trade going through is all up to Yao now. If Yao wants it he will be a Rocket, if not then so be it. Yao and Artest need to get on the phone ASAP. You just get the feeling there is a lot of water to pass under the bridge before this trade is finalized.
The media is such a load of crap. Yao also made the same mistake Berkman made before this season started. I'm sure Rockets management is going to clean this up quick but the Sac writer is getting exactly what he wanted. He's starting to rile up Artest and make him think about it twice... I'd say Yao should have just said less knowing how the media twists words. Berkman could have taught him that. I do smell a little bit of trouble brewing here.
Yikes, that was not a pleasant read for a hopeful Rockets fan. I'm sure this thing will get resolved soon. Hopefully Artest and Yao realize that they both have some adjusting to do when they communicate with each other. But this kind of situation could only happen with a guy like Artest. I'm just saying.
Agreed. They really need to talk. Artest leveled so much praise on yao that it came off as being kind of sarcastic praise. I mean saying, he'll jump off a bridge if Yao told him to? The trade will only go through if Yao approves it? The chronicle has already messed things up before the trade is even official yet. Yao and Artest need to clear the air.
I love Scola's response better than Yao. Yao doesnt need to speak the obvious. When someone like Ron comes to your team, all you gonna say is: "who gives a bleep for the past, let's start rock and roll from now".
Blinebury is a total a-hole for choosing to publish those comments knowing how easily they could be misconstrued. I've always hated Blinebury.
Yeah, I agree that Artest is being a little sarcastic. From what everyone says about Artest and Yao, they both seem like nice, personable guys in person so hopefully they can talk sooner than later.
funny how a competitor says how hard tracy competes and people on this board says he's a quitter? funny how that works coming from a guy who plays against tracy
