This makes Yao look bad because he can't stay healthly and can't play. That's right but I have a feeling he is actually ready to play around 20 minutes, even now. But team is playing well, starting to build a chemistry, and they just don't want Yao to mess it up. Did I said they? I actually meant Rick.
To everyone that says we have to keep Yao for financial reasons. You know what would bring in more money to Les? Advancing deep in the playoffs, reaching or winnig the finals. We can't accomplish those with Yao weighing us down. Guarantee doing team achievements like that brings far more revenue.
I don't really want to suggest this, but could the Rockets be sitting Yao out in an effort to collect insurance? We're not contenders this year and Yao's almost halfway to the 41 missed games necessary to collect insurance on the entire year. We're also still over the luxury tax. Strengthening the muscle could just be an excuse to try and save 17 million dollars.
I think it means we're moreso doomed with Yao as a player, moreso than Les as an owner. Anybody would take that deal. Anybody.
Dont think so, if thats the case they would be playing Yao to pump up his value instead of sitting him. thats why the whole indef. thingy sounds very fishy to me, especially when Yao still needs to pass the physical to be traded.
disagree. You missed the point my friend. its not a deal, its a business decision. they made this decision not because Yao cant play, not because Yaos recent bone bruise, its becae les wants to save money. every year we hear morey says "we got all thr resources thx to mr.Alexander, but this is the only year we are over the luxury tax then this. its a money saving move cuz we are not making the playoffs and we are paying the LT.
Well maybe they don't want risk any injury. Or if he plays, he will be rusty in the first couple of weeks anyway, and that is not going boost up his value.
One must be so dumb to trade Yao at the current situation. He won't be traded. Rockets just take care of his health, they still trust him thinking in long term (sorry for those who want him out). The later he returns, the sweeter will be the good times that he still have to give us. Patience.
I don't know. Yao's coming off one of the most major surgeries in NBA history and isn't ready to play full-time minutes yet. With his injury record no one, not even an insurance company, could argue any foul play in sitting Yao until February.
Look, I know it sounds crazy, but have any of you guys considered the possibility that the reason for holding Yao out has nothing to do with insurance policies, team chemistry, pending trades or the coach hating him and is really just about his injury being much worse than the team is willing to admit? I'm just putting it out there.
Not true, if some team is looking to shed a long term contract of a good player and start over, he would be a nice pickup for them. DD
