Once again it makes sense to pay a player who can actually suit up and play, rather than sit on the bench like the case of Yao.
If Yao can actually PLAY, expecting him to be willing to sign a vet minimum with rox is delusional. He can easily get a MLE contract at least somewhere else. Loyalty can't surpass business for a professional athlete, especially he is only 30 and rockets are not contender for now! If Yao is really still injured or injure himself again, he will retire for sure. Again, as a sensible person he won't put money above health concern. Plus, He has made quite some $$$ already.
Hey DD: Did you notice how gingerly Yao was walking last night? I had a feeling something like this was going to happen once I saw him.
Awesome... Yao is out even longer... I can't wait for him to retire or for us to to try to trade him for something that is worth something decent.
I don't know what to believe about the Yao situation anymore, but I certainly don't believe what they tell me. Maybe Yao really is hurt badly, and thus much caution is being taken. But I just don't believe it, and think they are feeding us bull****.
At those who are freaking out, don't. It can't be serious. The doctors would've know his injury's condition in a few days. It's been like more than a month that Yao's out. He can't be more injured. Rick is just trying to wait for him to be able to play 48 mins and be available during the playoffs, which we will make.
Wow, indefinitely sounds like a long time. I wonder where Morey's and Alexanders heads are at as far as resigning Yao.
Is it over or are the Rockets trying to drive his price way down going into free agency? Maybe it's just a combination of me being a bit of a conspiracy theorist and wishful thinking. My fear is, the Rockets give up, Yao heals and has 3 or 4 good years. That being said, I don't want the team to paint themselves into a corner regarding Yao.
Some team will be stupid and desperate enough to offer him a medium sized contract, and even that's too much. I can't imagine a scenario where the Rockets don't end up overpaying him. It's best if he signs somewhere else, anywhere but here.
even if Yao isn't ready to come back until a few weeks or so I still wouldn't want the team to sign Chris Bosh. they don't really need to sign anyone. just leave the team like it is now and give more playing time to Jarred Jeffries and Jermaine Taylor. our team is fine just the way it is.
You guys are freaking out. They have Yao's longterm health in mind, and they want to make damn skippy that Yao does not seriously reinjure himself on account of them. I think we will hold him out until he is capable of playing 30 minutes a game...
