The Sonics took the ball out of Yao's hands, while he was trying to get a rebound.

Please don't squeeze the Charmin! Seriously, I'm glad that Yao has somebody on his butt. Less than 12 rebounds per game is unacceptable for somebody of his height, weight and skill. In addition, Yao should be able to put up 20-25 points, with 2-3 blocks per game.

Sound demanding? It is, and we should be. He's the first pick in the draft, and is one of the most highly touted picks in a long time; to top it off, he's clearly capable of magical performances, like the one he pulled off last year in San Antonio against Duncan.

Duncan should be Yao's benchmark. Those two have similar offensive abilities (both can shoot inside and outside), are agile and good defenders. Maybe JVG will light a big enough fire under Yao's butt to make him live up to the hype and his abilities.

Yao needs to stop being a marshmallow. People demanded that we trade away every talented player we had for the sake of bringing in role players who defer to Yao, does it really seem like he's on track to being the type of player who is clearly "the man" on a team? Yao lacks the demeanor of a truly great player, I hate to say it;), but I don't think Yao "gets it."

In a lot of games Yao looks like he's just going through the actions. His playing style is just so depressing. He needs to have more energy and more passion for the game. Otherwise he will just be a more skilled Shawn Bradley and that would be a sad waste of talent.
