That award doesn't mean much anyways. Yao was an all star and I really thought he deserved it but thats just me.

I really hope Yao shows them next year. Besides, I don't think Yao cares about the award anyways.

You guys got it all wrong.

Yao loses out to AS because he is a Chinese, who does not drink milk since he was one year old but AS still gets milk lifetime long.

    Does it make sense?

Agree! It would be nice if Yao does win. However,I think that Yao is more disappointed about missing the playoff.:)

Yup, that's right. That's why Iverson is considered a superstar. His efficiency.

Efficiency means jack. The flashy numbers everyone will look at are points and rebounds. Assists were probably discounted because the two are big men.

It all comes down to the finish. I can't believe there are people out there who seriously think Yao finished strongly enough to keep a lock on ROY. His shooting percentage was what? Blame Larry Smith if you want, but he still didn't produce when it mattered most.

The national media isn't going to track a silly storyline like "assistant coach mishandles big man" when voting on awards.

I'm glad we have Yao, but not getting ROY is not the end of the world. As some writer said a while ago, this draft had the possible equivalent of Moses Malone and Bill Walton. How cool is it that we got one of those two?

(And yes, those who put Caron Butler second were smoking crack.)

Local papers often scoop the news when dealing with local events/personalities...

Uhh...actually efficiency means a heck of a lot. Cato is #2 in rebounding efficiency. It does matter. But obviously...the biased voters did not consider it. And Yao did not finish strong enough? Well...Cato was playing more than him. Yao barely took any shots. We were totally losing games. We played horribly as a team.

    OH WELL.

    AMARE WON.

    Congrats! ;)
