I'd love to see Stevie make a comeback. I'm not expecting that he'll ever start or even be one of the first guys off of the bench. If he can contribute in any sort of meaningful way and be counted on to be there when we need him, then I'm happy to keep him. IF he just doesn't have it in him anymore...well....it was a fun ride...but business is business..and winning is winning. Good luck Stevie....many of us pulling for you.

While you are messing around with both of them, I will sneak in behind you and chant "Stevie It's Ovah" in the TC.

Im not even a Francis fan but if yall think Wafer and Strawberry is better than he is yall are out of your minds. If they cut him is because the coach dont want him on the team and thats it

you know what, if steve can't come back and play and needs to be out til maybe feb. I think the wise thing to do is cut him.

We need to make room for deke, von, or strawberry. Is von or stawberry better than steve? maybe not but at least those two can play now.

if somehow steve can come back and play in feb then we would had few months to decide if von or strawberry is better. we then cut either one and sign steve back. (maybe a better way to offer him new contract).

I think players that we cut before reg season can be re-sign. this is a smart move to solve our roster spots.

Listened to Morey on 610 this morning and here is what I got from it:

    1) Steve will take a while to come back from the surgery but he expected him to return
    2) They weren't looking to sign Mutumbo, and dorsey would be going to the NBDL since they dinged him long term and he would't make it on the court this year
    3) They are only keeping either Von Wafer or DJ, not both

First of all it doesnt even make sense to cut a guaranteed contract, we would still have to pay steve anyway. I am a steve francis fan and I believe when healthy he will be a great backup for rafer. If the rockets do give up on steve and for some crazy reason cut him we will regret it.

I guarantee that if steve becomes a free agent a title contender will take a chance on him and he will pay them dividends.

At the very least if your a rockets fan i dont see how rooting against our own player will help anything.

Steve has been my homie since he came to the league, i remember when i first met the dude in a club called cloud 9 on richmond, he was tacky dressing goofy dude following cuttino and shandon anderson everywhere they went (steve use to love those hockey jerseys...lol)...anyway those were the days...I know he can still hoop but if he is waiting on somebody to give him something he is tripping. Steve has got to come on with it....Fight, Slap Rafer or Aaron in practice ....something...pick a fight with tracy....lol

Real Talk it sounds like the Rocket organization is showing the loyalty to Steve as Steve has always had for the city of Houston.. Steve has got to show up and show out or be out!! this year we cant play with him he knows that...In any event I want to see him back on the court for the Rockets but if not HE IS RICH..

im pulling for you steve...but I LOVE MY ROCKETS WAY MORE

I don't know why a lot of you have started singing the "Nah,nah, nah nah Goodbye" song from this article. It sounded like it was optimistic. Him having a headcold did hurt some much needed practice time to shake off the rust and feel out his knee. Scola had to leave practice early due to a cold too. It's going around and like the article said it was a bad time to get sick.

I know Francis isn't going to let that bother him. He's going to bust his ass for his chance like he did last year after the DNPs. And that Phoenix game wasn't his only good game last season. He was essential in a Denver Nuggets home blowout with 10 pts,4 asts,3 rebs, a block and 2 steals. That wasn't in garbage time either.

He's waiting for the opportunity to show his stuff and convince the coaches, the team, the league, and the haters on this board that the only thing holding him back was his injury and now it's gone.

I don't know what's with the amazing hate on this board, it's as if Steve Francis came into all the haters houses, punched them straight in the face, put a shotgun to their dogs head, boinked their girlfriends and their mothers and took off without saying goodbye. Then I'd understand the hate.

Hope he has something left in the tank but not holding out high hopes. If he does I'd consider it a bonus.

Stevie is done as a player. I'm not hating I just haven't seen anything from him in 4 years. Very few, if any, players resurrect their careers four years later.

That being said, he will not be cut. He has a guaranteed contract. All they are looking to do is get under the luxury cap. They only need to cut one of Harris, Straw, or Von Wafer to get to 15. The luxury cap can wait until Feb.

My vote would be for Harris, because his upside as a contributor for the Rockets is next to nothing with all the pf's we have. It is going to be hard enough for Hayes to get more that 5-10 minutes, much less Harris.

Von Wafer looks to me to have huge upside. I doubt he will play, but with an ailing McGrady and an aging Barry, maybe he'll get a shot, sort of like Head did a few years ago.

Strawberry might be brought in if a big pg is giving us fits.

I think the Rockets do need another big center (Mutombo?), but will wait until right before the luxury tax deadline, which is in February, to make a move. Up until that time they will be trying to move Head and Francis' contracts.

Unfortunately not many people here seem to understand this and constantly bring up the combined 15minutes of fame he's had. Almost all of which came against Phoenix last season and that game winner in Washington 2 years ago.

Unfortunately not many people here seem to understand the term "value".

Actually, if he is on his way out, physically speaking, I want to see it myself, not reading some armchair quaterback's perception of what he reads from the obvious bias medias and stat sheets.

Morey said they are going small so Scola & Landry & Hayes depending on who the competition is that night. I figure they will find someone else for the playoffs (Mutumbo) to help when they roll around but play the season small. Apparently they ran the stats and played pretty well small last year.
