so that makes tmac the first guy? I've seen your previous post and I dont think any of them are reasons to trade yao. number one) marketing, whether for les making money or attracting other big players whom wants china attention number two) team leading in scoring and rebounding. his presence alone can deter would be penetrating. number three) if this team would just pick up rebuilding around him it would be more beneficial. But yes I do agree he isnt the talking type. he is a second player as you put. does this mean we have to wait till 2k10 post season to pick up a superstar who can talk and players listen. thats the problem with rafer, he has no problem talking and taking charge but when other players are better then him they probably think why the hell is he talking....So now Artest is here and he not only strikes skill but toughness but because of the feud with tmac and he only being here for 1 year if that they are having a hard time listening to him. look at how AB turns out listening to BB. there is obvious problems with tmac and artest. they are both ball stoppers, that is for sure. and honestly thats a star status. maybe artest talks too much? maybe artest is getting into tmac's butt and tmacs way of dealing with it is telling coach to get him traded? we all know coach admires tmac or something to that effect.
Dream is what we dream Yao can be although it just a dream. 1 Dream = 2 Yao Dream is the most skillful center ever live. Dream posted his will on both ends of floor no matter who he played against. Dream is a legend all admire and respect. 99 forever!
Yao is the true leader of this team. Notice that when someone scores a bucket or gets fouled, yao is the first one to come over and pat him on the shoulder. If that player falls down, he will be the first one to pick him up. That is what true leader does. Now, here is the problem...... to yao, every player on this team is an equal part, so he will never complain about getting established down low, were as the great hakeem would demand that the player who is not passing the ball should get traded. =) The solution..... Yao will always do as told. He's an obedient child, to steal a quote from the chinese basketball association. with that in mind, the monocle needs to tell him to demand the ball at all times. The monacle must also make every player on this team understand, that to reach greatness the ball must go to big man.
From Watching the games it seems as if Rafer is the leader. Ron also seems to be talking a lot on the court. Yao obviously cant be the leader. McLady is too busy whining about how the play isnt going the way he wants it to.
Yao has to be a leader or to be traded for a leader, Morey, just tells him, it is his team, Tmac is no long good, you need lead. When Tmac was not palying, Yao was playing like a leader, and when both were playing, Yao looked like a chicken without a head whenever Tmac was holding the ball. You can see Yao setted up a pick for Tmac almost every time when they were playing together, resulted in a miss shot from Tmac at the most of the time.
There is nothing in your post that said yao is a leader. NOTHING! Are you kidding me? Adelman needs to tell someone to give yao the ball? You think Rudy had to tell maxwell to give Dream the ball? Let me give you a quick story Kenny Smith used to tell on full court press. Against Sa in the playoffs in 95, Dream told the whole team he was going to put his shoulder in Robinson's chest. He didn't care if he got a charge or what, but he was going to show Robinson it was going to be like that for the entire series. Guess what? Dream punked Robinson the whole series. Another story, they were playing clipps and the clipps had went on a run. Rudy called a to to setup a play for a pick and roll with kenny and thorpe. Once they got on the floor, dream told kenny he was going to the blks, throw him the ball. Guess what kenny did? He waved off otis and threw dream the ball and they scored. You can't be "obedient" or just patting guys on the ass isn't leadership. An yao get in tracy's ass when he's blowing assignments? Can he get on rafer when he having heat checks when he's 2-9? Can he make sure everyone know the game is tight, throw him the ball. Shaq could do it to kobe. Duncan can do it to parker and manu. Dream did it to everyone on the team. That's leadership without screaming at people, but you have to hold people accountable.
