I think wesley will resign, best scenario would be coming off the bench, he can still contribute

He should be let go. Can't really dribble, too short, another year older, injuries are beginning to come now, and I just dont think its the best interest of the Rox to keep short old guards

You guys need to stop being sympathetic and Move on. This team needs much more than he can give

Oh and yes, some of you are hypocrites for critisizing Mac and Yao when they were injured and playing, but say you respect this old bag.

Some of the thinking on this board is unbelieavble

I dont agree with you that we should get rid of DWES.. I know Wesley is short, but he can hit open J's and can play great Defense on point guards.. but I think we should have a taller, good defense SG who can hit his jumpers to back up Wesley.. ( I think Anderson was OK and now Bogans is doing pretty well)

Should Head or Wesley be ahead in the rotation next year?

Wesley has done a good job but we need to get younger. Head needs to be ahead of him in the rotation but that won't be enough. I think we need a SG like Brandon Roy in the draft.

Uhh... wasn't Yao's toe messed up for a long time? I would say he earns toughness credit for all the time this season he has been playing through that before the surgery Don...

you dont even need to think about that..of course Wesley ... Head should be heading another team if he continues his slump, or should stay in HOuston as a backup SG if he plays like he did in GS consistently (he needs to work on Turnovers as well)

Wesley has shown his mettle. I dogged him hard early in the season after his knee surgery. He is too short, too slow to guard bigger, quicker , younger guards-no doubt.

I have grown to appreciate what he can bring- he can be our Steve Kerr at 2 mil per season short term -with a strong presence that can still help make plays. He compliments TMac well.

I think we could do worse as BIG M stated.

Can Shoot, Can defend small guards, Shows mental toughness, Can be a team leader...

Why not keep him for a small contract? Its not exactly as if we have an overabundance of guards who can make an open jumpshot.

Last year, he was the best peremeter defender Rockets ever had since Yao joined Rockts.

IF we can get a legitimate starting SG...you are right.

Luther did very well for a rookie this year, if he has any kind of work ethic at all, he should be solid for us next year, preferrably behind the hoped-for proven starter.
If Luther improves enough to challenge for the starter slot...all the better for the Rockets.

Thing is, you guys are counting on a guy who is OLD and now becoming injured who is a streaky shooter and will be even older next year... oh and excuse me for one second

    BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

For comparing him to Steve Kerr. The guy wasnt turnover prone and had one of the highest 3pt shooting percentages in history. Its not even the same.

We could find someone else who can do what wesley is doing with the right gameplan. I'd take Eddie House over Wesley. That's the wrong guy to rely on for heavy minutes, or over HEAD who we need to develop.

Its time to move forward and some of you guys arent looking at what needs to be done to improve.

I’m against the Rockets resigning Wesley solely because I think if he’s on the roster, Van Gundy will start him. If we’re going to move forward with a new team next season, I don’t want any of the old veterans back that will in any way tempt Van Gundy to start them.

Wesley is probably been our most consistent shooter over the course of the season. He can play defense as well just about anyone on the team.
He plays through pain, and works through injuries. He hussles as much as anyone as well.

Removing him from the team, doesn't make us better in and of itself. He isn't a minus to our team.

Resign him. 15-20 mins off the bench at the leauge minimum. Especially with the weak SG draft class (Roy Excluded).

I like Wesely, but i think next year head should be an 30+ minutes player. so depite my foundness for DWES, i would not be all that upset if we were to render him as not in our future.

The key is going to be if they bring Spanoulis over and he is what he is cracked up to be. If that happens, the PG spot is locked down with Rafer and him. Then Luther has to get minutes at the SG spot. I would prefer backup minutes with us picking up an athletic 6-5 to 6-8 shooter by trading away Swift and whatever.

On the other hand if Spanoulis doesn't come or if he struggles then Head gets plenty of minutes at both spots.

But Head is TOO SMALL to be the starting SG. He cannot stop the vast majority of SGs in this league. They are too big for him.

I want DWes back, on the roster, playing spot minutes and minutes where the matchups work for him. Wesley is a shooter and he can shoot the basketball. His shot will help us at certain points in the season when everybody starts blowing cold. It would be nice to dip down the bench and bring in the plug to knock 'em down.

Well, thats all danddy and well, if this greek fellow is any good?.. i hope he is not another europian dud. if bogans could develope an regular shot that you could rely on, he would be that starting SG were looking for.
