If you go by minutes played/game, The Rockets employed a larger rotation than the Spurs, the previous 2 years. This year, they are one less. Rockets This year: 10 guys played over 10 minutes, 8 guys over 17 minutes 05-06: 14 guys played over 10 minutes, 10 over 17 minutes 04-05: 18 guys played over 10 minutes, 11 over 17 minutes.
The great thing about the Rockets roster (when everybody is healthy) is that we are so versatile. Offensively. the Rockets have two legitimate post-up players in Yao and Bonzi, a guy who take over a game from the perimeter *and* distribute the ball effectively in T-Mac, outside bombers like Head and Battier and great garbage men in Howard and Hayes. Howard still a nice outside shot, too. For all his shooting woes, Rafer has been a solid point guard this year. He doesn't turn the ball over and forces the tempo better than any Rockets point guard since Sam Cassell. Defensively, I think the Rockets have got some cover for some of the problems they have had over the last few years. Snyder will really come in handy against the athletic running teams like Phoenix and Denver. He can also help guard Kobe if we meet the Lakers. It would be great to a relatively fresh Battier, or McGrady guarding him down the stretch of Snyder took over for 15 or 20 minutes during the game. I really like this team and am excited about the future.
Man, I was giving Wells props for his mid-range game earlier, and tonight it was missing in action. Figures.
