i'd like to see Les pay this fine.

if our owner would backup the coach a little when he's trying to protect one of the most marketable athletes in the world it might present a stronger argument to the league.

I think this is total bulls**t! JVG never mentioned anyone in particular. All he said was that he didn't like the way the game was called against the Heat. There was an obvious example of Yao's arm getting scratched and he was bleeding and also he got knocked down. He gets fined $25,000! For what, pointing out the obvious? What the NBA needs to do is evaluate the way the game is officiated and get more competent people to be referees.

I thought the league won't let anyone pay fines for something you did. Like how the league didn't let Yao pay half the fine during the Dallas series.

Besides, maybe Les is starting to get irritated by JVG's ways of benching rooks, hence him not saying anything.

I think everyone included in the Rockets organization should just keep low and quiet and do their jobs. Play the game. It seems like the whole world is against our Rockets right now.

I think Les is afraid of David Stern fines also. Don't forget there are new rules for owners, also. They are mostly for Cuban, though.

It is so disgusting that David Stern runs NBA like that......

What's WRONG for JVG to come out and said something to protect the big men ?? He did it not just for Yao Ming, but for all the others.

And that Yao Ming got roughed by all the other players in the low post is a FACT and there for everyone to see:- He got knocked out by Shaquille O'Neal's elbow; he got scratched and left a 18-inch scar on his arm; he was bleeding during the game; he got all kinds of shovelling and pushing at the back...... WITHOUT getting the calls.

Those are things that anyone have eyes can see. So no one can say anything about this ?

And can anyone explain WHY Isiah Thomas is not fined, when he said something similar to JVG about the current rule changes are not in favor for the big men in basketball ??

stern is such a tyrannical moron. jvg was stating the obvious... there was F****** blood oozing!!! what a sh***ty league. keep defending the refs' mistakes until the bitter end, shielding them from due criticism will definitely improve the quality of the game (idiot)...

i dont know if anyone has the email address or some other contact information (im sure print mail would be even better) but there is a meager 'contact us' section on the nba website here. http://www.nba.com/webAction?actionId=surveyInitialize&target=/email_us/email_form_041027.jsp&surveyId=1152

everyone needs to help out by at least dropping a comment in here. and if someone finds a real contact (since they probably dont even read these) post that here. we really need to mobilize. i never thought yao had it THAT bad until this season, and mainly during the miami heat game against shaq. it was almost as if the refs were TRYING to prevent yao from playing well and showing up their 'marquee center' for the past ten years. there were two instances that stand out most to me; first, the gash on yao's arm. now i didn't even see when this happened, but seeing the aftermath and the blood would've been enough to make the referees call the game a LOT cleaner afterwards. it wasnt (at least not for yao).

SECOND, and i think much worse, was the antoine walker foul on yao in the fourth quarter as yao took a beauitful pass from tmac while cutting to the basket. in midair, on the way to the rim, walker blatantly stuck out his arm, fully extended, and pushed yao's midsection. it was a CLEAR, INTENTIONAL FOUL and really looked like walker was TRYING TO TAKE A FOUL. it wasn't a flagrant and it wasn't malicious, but he was OBVIOUSLY TRYING TO FOUL YAO TO PREVENT THE BASKET. this is the incident where yao landed on one leg awkwardly, and it looked really dangerous. i couldnt believe it when i didnt hear a whistle. if it was ANY other player, either the ref would blow the whistle OR the player would get PISSED OFF and throw some bows (at walker or the ref). but yao is just so used to the abuse that he probably thinks its part of the game. IT IS NOT.

also if you do write, please keep it civilized and respectful. writing angry, vapid comments will probably hurt more than it will help. try to make rational, calm arguments and just mention specific instances of yao being repeatedly abused without calls. i think a calm yet strong statement is much more effective than pure hate mail.

Yao should pay the fine for Gundy. That's just chump change to him anyway.

Considering Stern's attitude regarding the players complaining about the new ball... "quit whining"... it's par for the course. He's been commisioner too long. He's arrogant and has become delusional. Dear David, this is the NBA, not the Catholic church. And you are not the Pope.
