No. We have enough PF's and as others have already pointed out the "stretch four" idea involving Battier on more than just a matchup basis has already been tried out.

When you have a lack of quality big men and an abundance of decent perimeter players, why not play to your strengths by going small instead of pretending you have a traditional team. That's all this is to me and it makes sense.

He is quicker than Scola, and they are about the same height. but Scola and Hayes too for that matter have a lot more upper body strength than Shane.

I am with OMR that Battier can't be any worse than Scola at defending the 4. That said, Scola is the only reliable low post scorer we have. Hill and Patterson are inconsistent for now.

So if you play Battier alongside with Scola, the defense will definitely suffer. If you play Battier with Hayes, offense suffers.

He was given minutes at the 4,but he could not handle it. Juwan Howard had to step in as the starter.

A friend shared this Peak ad with me today, and it had me laughing like a hyena.

"I tell myself, I can play!"

Using Battier at 4 gives Rox more flexibility....

....to get bent over even more, as if it were possible.

If the Rox want their 4 to hit the 3 point shot, Patterson can be that player.

The move for Battier at the 4 is just an excuse for Aldeman to play Brooks more. He loves playing Brooks and Lowry together.

So we're not going to trade Battier?

To take advantage of certain match-ups, yes, play Shane at the 4.

The only caveat i'd add is that you'll need a legitimate big man to go with this for extended minutes.

Thats the problem there..Puttin him at the 4 would have our whole frontcout playing out of position..We would officially be the Golden State Warriors of the Nellie Era..Might as well bring Nellie back
