Yup people say he never shows emotion. When Wafer layed the ball up got the defender got called for goaltending, T-mac jumped up and waves towel. The team chemistry seems to be back. I thought it was a bit overblown anyway.
Just because he labels himself a facilitator doesn't mean he can't score or dunk on a formidable shot blocker. He is the single person who is the very best at facilitating for our team by far. He SHOULD do it, picking and choosing when to attack, when to create for his teammates, and when to feed of his teammates. I think people are getting stuck on the label as if that's what he'll do 100% of the time. Come on...
facilitator doesn't mean he won't score points. he scored 16 pts in 28 minutes today (if for more calls, could have scored more). it's just mean getting yao or a hot guy going is a priority. remember tracy passing to artest 2 straight times in the 2nd when he was hot?
What a joke. Tmac shot 14, 20, 20, 14 after he returns. How many shots Yao got meanwhile? 11, 14 and 12. Wait, Tmac was not there when Yao got 14 shots. The only two games that Yao got 20+ shots, Hawk and Jazz, are without Tmac. "Yao should be taking 25 shots a night, bla bla bla"- This will never happen when Tmac is still in the court.
dude do you watch the NBA? yao is a big man. he touched the ball A TON tonight, but shot only 12 times. it's easier to double a big man and it's harder for a big man to take a lot of shots.
what do you guys think about Tmac saying we should be playing inside out ??? i happen to agree with him because i think our personnel is better suited for that. im not completely against adelman's offense though, i just would prefer the "hybrid" over the full version.
Rafer is garbage, I am tired of teams leaving him wide open and laughing at him when he bricks an open three. Lately his decision making has sucked especially on fast breaks. He is terrible at finishing around the rim or dishing it to someone else.
I saw alot of real positives tonight from Tmac, it was very promising! I saw a very low number of bad shots. I saw some chemistry with Artest, including the little two man play. I saw Tmac get his teamates alot of open shots without dominating the ball. Not including his early year terrible shot selection, Tracy really does play smart basketball. I really hope he fully commits to his new role as a facillitator, because he is very good at it.
That's right. When T-mac made his left-handed slam, every one from the bench stood up cheering. I want to see everyone cheering for each other, especially the cheers from Tracy. Remind me of 'How sweet it is'.
i like the dunk he played today, but i think there is still sth wrong with his style and the team today
Its this sort of talk that motivates Rafer and gets him going for about a week or week and a half! Once he gets his confidence back then its back to being 1-11 Rafer again. Im so tired of his erratic play. If youre going to shoot 37 percent, id rather you be 3-9 every night instead of 9-12 one night and 0-9 the next. It is just difficult to play with a guy when you never know what youre going to get out of him on a nightly basis. Its like dating a bipolar chick.
When he said "facilitator" it didn't mean that Tmac just wanted to hang back back and just dish assist after assist. He meant that he wanted to do a little bit of everything on the court, and just become a pure scorer like Bryant. He expounded on the "facilitator" bit to compare it to his days as a volume scorer in Orlando. You have to look at the whole context of the post and not take every thing he says literally. Remember most of these interviews are done live and he can't edit his words to express himself better like we can. Tmac has always said his fav player growing up is Magic Johnson. Johnson was one of the most versatile players in the league's history, so that's probably what he wants to be as well.
Yao is shooting only 13 shots a game in 33 minutes, I say he needs to get more looks, I'd rather see Yao force a shot over a double team that kick out to brickston
The forcing is not the problem with the double team since Yao Ming is stronger and heavier than most players anyway. Its the steal. He's too slow and lacks the speed and instincts to protect the ball against multiple defenders. If he doesn't pass the ball out it'll lead to a steal by the double-teamer.
I miss Wafer and i wish he can play lots of amazing game for us. T-mac returned, but how about Wafer, where is the exacting position he is in this team. Aldeman has so many excellent guys, efficient and firm Yao, T-mac, Artest, Wafer, Landry, Brooks, Battier, Scola, Alston and Uncle Mu, the mind of this team, so many talent guys together, they are full of spark, hopefull, they will bring us the Champion.
Yao is actually like top 5 in shot attempts for a center in this league. He's fine where he's at. If he gets alot of good looks and has single coverage, by all means attempt more. However, right now he's demanding double team, still gets a lot of touches but scores efficiently. Tmac looked good today but he's still far from 100%. He looked really slow even when he went up for that dunk. As time passes, his condition will hopefully get better and we'll have our big 3 for the playoffs.
Let's hope he can put his money where his mouth is, he did it last year when he came back but was forced to be the big scorer again when Yao went out. Hopefully, this year, he will really change into a 14-18 ppg guy with 6-7 assists and 5+ rebounds. Of course, when needed, he hopefully can take over and score 30-40 like last year's game 6 and we definetly get out of the first round (barring injuries).
