Touches? How about using a screen? How about taking it to the hoop? Tmac has some serious selfish issues. I really dont think he likes playing in adlemans system where everyone touches the ball. He is purposely playing like a duechebag because he doesnt want the offense to succeed. How can he throw up a triple double one day, then score like Chuck Hayes on another? dont tell me he's hurt. He isnt even trying. FU TMAC
T-mac had chances to score in tonight's game but was just giving up the ball like "here you do something with it". Sit him, he is and has been hurting the team for the last 2 months now. I seriously think if Wafer had started in his place we might had not won the game but it would of been a heck of alot closer and competitive. T-Mac's attitude is the kind that infects the whole team. Disgusting to watch.
Plus DEFENCE! I'm not talking about one game and he was usually seen as the last one 'walking' back from the offensive end and lazy enough to even put up his hand in front of the opponent's face! I doubt if he's physically not ready and I see more about a 'Mental' thing. If he thinks he isnot able to play back-to-back games, let him sit out completely until he's willing to do his best. It's in Houston's best interest otherwise he might repeatedly hurt Houston like he did tonight. T-mac, you might want to learn something from Kobe if you're watching the Laker's game tonight!
Fran slams Tracy tonite: http://blogs.chron.com/franblinebury/2009/01/sittin_on_the_dock_of_the_bay.html
I hope Fritz does an interview with TLac or Adelman soon and ask them questions about this perplexing playing time of a player who is giving no effort whatsoever when there is viable substitutes on the bench.
This is exactly why you dont operate only off "feel". Feelings go up and down. Emotions vary day to day, hour to hour. A real professional knows he has a task to do day after day, regardless of how he's feeling. McGrady, his "feel" is his darn guiding force to his life. Hey we'd all love to hit the snooze button in the morning and not perform the day's duties, even take off the alarm entirely. But we have our jobs to do. I dont know...the getting Adelman fired thing. As though Adelman's REALLY challenging the team here. Gets more confusing at it goes... but is making sense is the McLady name cuz (no offense to the female readers), thats how he's acting in a MAN'S league.
Fran singled out one play but there were many sequences on offense where TSlack is just standing way out beyond the three point line picking his nose. Bill Worrell and Matt Bullard also called him out on that. Absolutely pathetic. TMac needs to be benched.
I keep reading people say T-Mac has quit on the team, but I cannot see why. He has the most talent around him that he has ever had and has a legit chance to win a Championship. Forget about how much he earns or is past. I just cannot see how someone can quit in this situation with everything in place. There has to be something going on, that we have not been told. There just has to be.
He needs to keep his BS excuses consistent. Throw your apologists a bone! Stick with your knee "injury" - it takes 7-8 months to heal from that now! Amazed that there are still braindead T-Mac lovers still trying to call people haters when the truth is obvious to nearly everyone. He had an incredibly minor, minimally invasive procedure (to call it surgery is almost misleading). He blew off his rehab. He didn't put in time over the summer on his strength or conditioning. God didn't intervene, so he didn't feel 100% at preseason and opted to sit out. Hey, sitting is totally like physical therapy. Come the regular season, his structurally fine knee still hasn't strengthened itself via divine intervention, so out-of-shape McGrady discovers that things arent coming easy on the court. Obviously this can't be his fault, so he blames the team docs and tries to find someone else to write him a doctors note. When every medical professional tells him that he's fine and needs to work things out on the court, he self-proscribes a BS 3-week absence to "rehab" his "injured" knee. We'll skip the rumored "knocked up another chick that wasn't my wife" bit. Comes back, things still aren't easy so he reverts to 30% effort. Only the front office, coaching staff, and teammates call him out and want better. Hey, let's promise them the moon on the condition that I get to skip back-to-backs and move on to blame my non-existent effort on the coach not calling enough plays for me! Cause I TOTALLY need to be getting the ball with the 9th best FG% on the team and pretty much the worst offensive numbers of my career! This TOTALLY isn't my fault!!! I've said over and over, reduce his role. There's no way he'll go along with that. Trade him for 10 cents on the dollar. Evan
The only possible solution to this is benching. If he buckles and throws a temper tantrum, then bench him for the season. We don't need his lazy ass messing up our chemistry.
I don't think he sees it as him quitting on the team. I think he's fine with his teammates and the makeup of this roster. I think the issue is that his body has quit on him and he has quit trying to fight through it or play with intensity despite the fact that he doesn't have the athleticism to do what he used to.
Excellent post. The problem is that we can't trade him 10 cents on the dollar when he's actually a liability, not an asset.
