Aren't McGrady/Yao supposed to be peaking right about now? Imagine what injuries will look like once the real decline starts, assuming injuries haven't already started it over the last year or so.

If you are GM do you look to trade one or both pieces or run out the clock on the McGrady/Yao tandem?

Where did you learn that he only had an arthoscopic surgery that requires a few weeks to heal? Is that what was said at the time?

Are you seriously going to compare a regular person getting injured to a basketball player that is injured?

Nevermind the fact that T-mac has tried playing with these injuries.

If his MRI comes back negative, I don't think it would be a bad thing if he just rested that knee for how ever many games he needs to miss. I would rather have him miss a few games now then when it really matters.

I don't know what is wrong with Tmac, I am just going by his history of exageration.

I am GUESSING....that he is just having trouble coping with post surgery aches.

It could be worse but it may be all in his head.

You can call me what you like, but mostly, just call me ....right.

    :D

Ha, Yao and Artest are FINE, while Tmac "might" miss a few games.

Yao and Ron are not expendable. Where do we get backup center and quality backup small forwards with Shane out...

At least we have backup shooting guards and one wanna point guard wanna be shooting guard.

I think we need to differentiate about whether T-Mac will and also wants to play versus whether he can dominate like he used to. I think T-Mac still wants to play but I certainly don't think he can dominate like he used to.

McGrady has a lot of injuries and I don't think he can be expected to dominate the game like he did in Orlando. If we're talking about his competitive fire I think he would like to still go out there to compete but as a player both willing and able to take over a game at will that's not there anymore. Ever since he got here he has been saying he is going to reign himself in and not be the Me-Mac that he once was. I think when he got onto the same court with Yao he had already reconciled himself to not being the guy to carry the team.

Even if he isn't Me-Mac he still is a very very good player and I want to see him back on the court soon and think if the Rockets are ever going to even make it to the playoffs we need him.

I hope they all fine and can play the next game. Saying that, if anyone os not fine or still having pain or don't think they can play without aggravating their injuries, he should be rested.

Mac's been playing hurt, and not very well. He's got to be incredibly frustrated. I hope he will shut it down and rehab for six weeks or more. That would improve our odds of seeing him in top form in the playoffs.

We still gots us some Von Wafer!

He had minor arthoscopic surgery, not any major reconstruction, just some cleaning out of the knee....

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Link to article about the minor surgery

"HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder and left knee on Tuesday.
Dr. Tom Clanton, the team physician, told the Houston Chronicle that no structural damage was found in the ligament or cartilage of McGrady's knee. Loose particles were removed from both the knee and the shoulder.

The newspaper said Dr. Hussein Elkhousy repaired a slight labrum tear on McGrady's shoulder."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

So, to me it sounds like he is just overeacting to the natural healing process, of course his knee is going to feel a little different, but if there is no structural damage, he needs to get busy stengthening the quad muscles and play through the pain.

AND, he should have done this back in June, July and August......

Funny how you see Yao running in a pool with a tether attached to him to stay in shape.....

Great, that's great. Obviously the rockets do a much better job as a team when she is off the court. I hope it's a career-busting injury that is gonna force her to retire immediatly. I really hope tmac spend more time with her children who always damnly miss their mother when tmac plays a road game with rockets team in another city.

I had a scope on my knee and it takes a bit. The knee is behind on building strength and it takes 2 to 3 months for him to feel comfortable. What causes that sharp pain he is talking about is the fact that it is a soft tissue injury. He needs to stop whining and play .

I had a similar surgery, and was back playing ball in 3 weeks. To be fair it took another 6 weeks before I felt perfectly healthy, but still......not 6 months.

Of course, I followed my rehab to a tee.......

I believe Tmac has an estrogen imbalance.

    ;)

I kinda agree. The pain maybe id not that big but tracy makes it look that way.

He has had his good and bad games. He had bad games not because the knee was bothering him, he had them because he wasn't agressive at all.

It is maybe not all, but big part is mental. He needs to get tougher and play.

    BJ,

Did your knee ever lock up after surgery? Mine would bend a little too far backwards, but once it strengthened....that stopped happening.
