I don't think we will have anything to worry about. T-Mac is a strong player and they are just resting him. I've too been a long time viewer first time poster. WELCOME!
HA HA! for one, Adelman said he wouldn't play but you choose to scare the living shart out of everybody with this stupid thread. BAN
Hey dude im in Auckland. Im always down in CHCH though as well, my GF is living there at the moment..Go the Breakers haha!!
Not too worried. Actually pretty happy for him to sit out most, if not all of the preseason. Fact is he is participating in practices so he is doing well enough, and he is acclimating at least somewhat to the new team structure. As long as he is uniform for opening night then its alright by me, jack.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6043265.html McGrady not worried about lingering injuries Though he won’t play in Tuesday's exhibition season opener against Memphis, Tracy McGrady says there is no cause for alarm. In fact, he’s feeling good about the progress he’s making with his knee and shoulder that underwent surgery in the offseason. “It’s been good,” McGrady said. “Every day there is improvement in my strength in my knee. I’m building up confidence in myself to be able to go out there and play on it. It’s just gradually getting better and that’s what we want. I’m not decreasing by any means. Everything is really improving. “The shoulder, for some reason, when I was lifting during the off-season, it was really bothering me. I stopped lifting for a while and I haven’t seen any problem. I thought coming into training camp where I was gonna be doing a lot of banging and running into screens that after a few days it was gonna be sore. But it hasn’t given me any problems.” Head coach Rick Adelman said he isn’t sure when McGrady will get his first game action. “We’ll see how it goes each day,” Adelman said. “See how he feels. I’m looking for him at the end of October. But he’s gonna have to play in some of these games to get himself in condition. We have those two pretty good breaks in the exhibition season. So I think he’s gonna be OK.”
You do know what I meant was getting our team to be more Adelman and not JVG (If that makes any sense) right? Since for the past few years all we've been doing is relying on McGrady, so its time to put him on the topping and the Houston Rockets as the base. No offense but since you aren't exactly a big fan of McGrady, then you might have supported a constructive criticism that does not include calling McGrady names for once . Just making sure buddy, don't wanna misinterpret your meaning .
a piece of the dang sky just hit me in the eye! what possible hopes can we have w/o Tracy for a single preseason game? we're doomed!
Not surprising! He just needs to get ready for the season and definitely playoffs. I knew he wasn't going to play tomorrow this kind of stuff now is just expected with Tracy so why complain just support him and keep him in your prayers!
I think this is good news instead of bad news, because is good to rest him, so he can be ready for the season. And the preseason games, I think is for seeing the rookies play, and to start developing them, also to start some people getting chemistry. Usually you see the best players playing less than 2 quarters in the preseason games.
Thats it. Out for the first game of the (pre) season already???? Weakling!!!! Trade his ass!!!! Buy out his contract!!!
No big deal at all. I'd hold him out if I were coach. I'm sure we'll see a whole lot more resting as strategy this year. This whole season will be aimed at the playoffs, even to the extent that the team might be willing to swallow an extra loss or two to keep players in the best possible shape.
i could care less about preseason....as long as the big three are all in the lineup during playoff time, we're good to get a ring.
last season you couldnt tell me that we could get artest without giving up scola, landry or battier... I am excited like this is a regular season game
once again, over-exaggeration. it's freakin' PRE-SEASON. he has partaken in most practices. if he's not fully recovered, why play him in a MEANINGLESS REG. SEASON GAME? but i'm sure people can still make a big deal out of it.
um, rather than be out for REAL games? you do know outside of possibly the last 2 pre-season games, the starters will probably get like 15-18 minutes of playing time. the rest is for seeing if the others will make the cut (which is the purpose of every preseason in every sport). i'm sure tmac will return for at least the last 2 pre-season games to just get used to ron artest.
