We have more than enough talent to win....And i dont know why this is a suprise to everyone...Tmac said he wasnt able to play. He said getting up and down the court he could do. All it means is Yao/Scola/Landry/Dorsey/Artest/Barry/and the rest maybe have to step up? Remember this is the friggin Grizzles....Look for 3 of the names mentioned to have atleast 15pts each.
I will actually seat Yao too. No need to play them now. I will only play them the last 2 o 3 preseason games.
I'm not too worried... Does this mean Brent Barry getting the start? (I hope to God Luther doesn't) The Chron also said that Rafer missed Monday's practice with a excuse from the team. Anyone know if he'll play?
IIRC he didn't play in any except for the last one or two pre-season games last year, Yao didn't play in a lot of them either... you sound like you're surprised.
Need to have T-Mac for the season opener not a the pre-season opener. Besides this gives RA a good look to see which players will make the final cut.
Win-win situation for us.. We can see the fringe players to prove their worth and they will play more committed as their place on the roster is on stake, rather than Mcgrady who wont play 100% because there will be fear he'll be injured again, and besides this will make Mcgrady more fresh after surgery. We have more pre-season games after this. So no need to worry for not playing in the opener
SO let's say Mac is out the entire preseason, doesn't that bother anybody? I mean considering how out of shape he is.
Its great news that he is only out for preseason opener, and they were specific with it. If it were more serious, they would probably have mentioned him being out after preseason as well. Seems like he requires an extended rest, hopefully, that is enough to boost his knees and shoulders back up to at least 90%. However, I do hope he at least plays as well as the second half of last season. He certainly is more deserving of that G spot than Allen Iverson..... Hell, now that Artest is here, lets hope we can save the all star spots for all three of our star players.
It wouldn't bother me at all, as long as there weren't any setbacks. If all he is doing is recovering, we can afford to have an "out of shape" T-Mac for a month or so. We have the depth to give him some breathers.
It has always been like this every year hasn't it??? Sure pre-season doesn't mean a thing...BUT it's important to have everybody together to develope chemistry and have a sense of what the team can and can't do!!! Every year, this team is cursed by key player during training camp...i remember Bonzi Wells didn't get to join and develope with the team during training and other players i forgot.
McGrady is a lesser version of Steve Nash, but with a shoulder you can lean on. Yao and Artest playing early only sets the tone for those 2 players. I think its better to have Yao and Artest as the base of the cake and McGrady as the topping. The last thing we want to do is rely on McGrady again, since that points towards the 2007 Jazz first round exit.
