I don't really care what TMac does during the regular season. He better pick up his game during the playoff. If not, I really had it with him. That's from his fan.

Althought I don't care about regular season as well, at least T-mac should show some efforts on losing weight which definitely is helpful and necessary for his knee.

I assume 90% of fans are sick of excuses and want achievements.

Either you sit and rest the damn and let the fans know you're not there or play and contribute with something else than poor offense.

I'm not hating McGrady, actually most of the time past few seasons I understood everything but this year there are no excuses.

This is our last train home people.

I's just looked at his past few seasons. Usually when he starts great, he finishes bad and when he starts bad he finishes well.

    1) in 2006/07 season - he started badly. He was out of shape, than went out with back problems. But damn, he came back strong and stayed that way for the entire year. After averaging just below 16 at the begginig of the season, he finished it averaging around 24. Than Rockets went to the PO but were too weak to handle the Jass

    2) 2007/08 season - he started VERY fast. He was playing vey well, even after minor elbow injury he was still ballin'. But than in the 2nd part of the season he hurt his knee and than shoulder and was dealing it for the entire 2nd part of the season and playoffs

Now he is obviously having a shaky start. But as the histroy showed, he usually finishes well when starts bad - hopefully it will work this time as well. I know one thing about McGrady - he IS NOT a guy who will play well for the entire year. He will have some stretches.

Now the thing is, he HAS TO make sure he is there ready and really healthly in February, March, April, May and June,

this is a pathetic denigration of our best player. he sucks right now. he plays great, not good, in the playoffs. what about yao's playoff performances? what about true warriors' playoff performances? lay off!!

from what im told, van gundy was hard on mcgrady behind closed doors, but never went after him in the media. same with most all the veterans...howard, mutumbo etc....cant get a bead on how adelman is handling him...

In case you missed this in particular:
This is a very "denigrating" statement from a normally supportive beat writer. I've been giving Tracy the benefit of the doubt, but when Feigen piles on, it's time to re-consider. Maybe McGrady deserves the heat this time.

And if JVG was supposedly very hard on McGrady behind closed doors, it sure didn't affect his ridiculous shot selection.

    Exactly.

Why is all this surprising to people? We knew this guy would take nights off. And they should be doing the same for Yao.

This isn't a team going for 72 wins. This is a team gunning for playoff success. They have a history of health issues....so I don't care one bit that McGrady doesn't play in December.

Now if you want to change the NBA to have December games be meaningful, I'm all for it. If you want to shorten the schedule to 40 games...or stop allowing more teams in the playoffs than not...I'm all for that. Rockets fans should know better than anyone that the NBA regular season is a joke...we came from the 6th seed to win a title in 95.

In this current system, I don't care who rests when. And I do want them to rest. I'm concerned with how McGrady is playing in May...not December.

According to MuGong in his blog below, TMac said he got a cold and had coughs so that he could not play.

Picture was taken when TMac left after the game and he met Morey at the corridor.

    Possible ^^

As I read, they really don't know why Tracy didn't play. He didn't speak to the media, and even Adelman who always does it before the game, didn't do that this time.

So it really wasn't said that he was missing that game because of the knee. Acutally he looks fine on this picture, smiling.

I think people are more disappointing than surprising. Guys with genuine injuries like Artest and Battier are playing through pains and playing hard on the court. We all hope for a healthy team near playoff time but from what the team displayed in these 30 or so games, the full team was never "formed" yet to say to have the opportunities to play through their routines and game plans "all together" to face the playoff challenges.

I agree with you that players should rest until they are 100%, problem is no one in the team except TMac himself knew if he was 100%. One day he said he was okay but then he asked for a day off the other day.

And I think Artest and Battier should really take their and fully recovered before they step back to the court again, even that would cost us some games on the record.

I don't get the attitude 'all I care is if Tmac performs in the playoffs'.

Why would you be indifferent to someone deciding that he doesn't need to work hard until the playoffs? No one is above playing for the team. If other guys are working hard during the season, you owe it to them to do the same.

I don't think this is the case, but others seem to be conceding it and are fine with it. That, I just don't understand.

I'm saying I'm fine with resting these guys regularly even when they are 100%. They're as fragile as it gets. And yet our only chance in May comes with these guys healthy. I'll give you the night off too, if you want it. Until May. Then you need to bring it! :)

Now this sucks for season ticket holders. As a former season ticket holder, I stopped buying when I realized how little so many of the players seemed to care about regular season games. Watching players walk up and down the court and laughing it up right after a loss kinda minimized the value of a ticket to me. Buying regular season tickets was all about preserving a right to ultimately buy playoff tickets.

The thing is, playoffs matter the most. This team has already had 50+ seasons and we will probably win 50+ once again.

I agree that everybody should work hard during the season, but it all matters in the playoffs. If he needs to sit now, it is good. But he has to ready when it really counts.

I am concerned with getting TO the playoffs. There are 9 good teams in the west...if Tmac sits too long, we are the odd team out.
