we'll make the playoffs. there's no doubt. eventually tracy, shane, and artest will be healthy enough to play well consistently. the problem is we need wins NOW regardless b/c we need that #2 seed. we're most likely going to face phoenix, dallas, or portland if we get the #2 seed and those are teams we can beat.
as much as i've been negative on mcgrady, i haven't totally given up on him, either. after all, talent like his doesn't come too often. while we still have him for a couple of years, we'd better figure out a way to motivate him. trading him away should be the last option this team considers. i really don't want to see it go there. it will be like cut losses in stick trading.
To be honest, I think this meeting is great for not only himself, and his team. Hopefully this can boost his confidence up and he plays with the passion and desire we need him to play with. Furthermore, I am really expecting him to play much better then he has and I totally believe he will so in these next games. Anyone agree with me?
With this team I'm not so sure about the health thing. I mean a injury can pop up at anytime. T-mac has to get right mentally if he's okay to play physically which I still think it's obvious the knee is bothering him. The key thing is these guys need to get chemistry together. This team has only played 2 or 3 games together this year.
Another rumor/news says that Morey asked T-MAC to play against Jazz, and T-MAC refused. And Morey was not happy about it at all.
McGRADY IS FALLING APART PHYSICALLY and some Rockets fans are in denial. It's not just the current knee situation, either. It's been this way for several years. He just racks up enough statistics to keep some peoples' hopes up. Assuming this GOAT guy is on point, it still doesn't change the fact that McGRADY'S BODY IS BREAKING DOWN. Almost every player has off the court issues, including the best of the best (Magic, Jordan, etc...). If you watched his legs during most of the games over the LAST FEW SEASONS (not just this season), there is clearly a PHYSICAL ELEMENT to what is going on with him. You don't have to be a doctor to see it. His speed and athleticism have deteriorated severely. McGRADY'S BODY WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR 10 YEARS OF NBA BASKETBALL. He peaked in Orlando. Harsh or not, he isn't worth $20 million and a team built around him needs the best supporting cast in the league to even have a chance to win multiple 7-game series against the elite of the league. For us to succeed in the McGrady-Yao era, we have always needed Tracy to fill the Jordan/Kobe/Pierce/James role. That doesn't involve merely having the occasional 40-point game or triple-double. It also involves having the PHYSICAL CAPACITY TO DELIVER GREAT PLAY CONSISTENTLY. He can't give us that consistency. His body won't allow him to. Throw in off the court issues and it's a lost cause.
He doesn't really have a choice now. That meeting could've potentially have been about "play now, or we won't even think of extending you" type conversation. In the end of the day, he has a boss. He has a salary. He has a contract. If he doesn't fulfill his obligations to his boss, he won't get another contract. He needs to play with "intensity"? Please. he needs to live up to his contract and duty as an employee. As a HUGE t-mac fan, I'm really expecting, no DEMANDING a bounce back game over the softy Wizards.
Eh, not surprinsing. I'm going to be very interested to see what McGrady does tonight. As we all know, a motivated McGrady (see playoff stats) is still one of the leagues best. You can definately tell in watching him play that something is up though. He is very distracted and I hope for him, his family and the team's sake he can reconcile this and move past it.
Of course they know. When they show up for the game and Tmac is still in his pajamas, crying, "I'm tired, I'm depressed, I got shooting pains all the way up into my vagina. I can't play tonight". Of course they know there is a problem. I agree they need to help Tmac become aware he is acting like a wussy. But the days of coddling him are over. If he is depressed get him Dr. Phil. If he is unenthused get him Richard Simmons. If he can't handle the pain get him Nicole Ritchie. But if he is still on his period come game time, he needs to put on an extra strength maxipad with wings and fight thru it. Whatever he does can not affect his performance on the court. Make it clear, in no uncertain terms that enough of his vagina chronicles. It's time to put up or shutup, to sink or swim, to cook gourmet style or get out of the kitchen. End of story
Well, I know first hand how much woman problems can disrupt your work performance...of course, I wasnt making $20 million the year it happened to me though...
I can't believe this wasn't brought up, but this theory completely explains why McGrady is NOT at the games when he's not playing (at least I haven't seen him aside from 2 games).
QFTT. I've been saying this for a long time. Tracy is the kind of guy that gets really down if things aren't going his way. It must be killing his confidence. I hope I' am wrong but I don't see McGrady getting any better physically (even to last year's form). His knee should have healed by now.
