Tony Hollings, Seth Wand, Milford Brown, D. Faggins, Benny Joppru, Dave Ragone, Jason Babin, Antwan Peek, Fred Weary, Charles Hill, CC Brown, Jamaal Lord, Vernand Morency- Thank you Charlie Casserly Just remember to get these players we had to pass up 10 Super Bowl starters that the Pittsburg Steelers drafted after us. Why defend Charlie Casserly? Is it because of Phillip Buchanon? Tony Boselli, Todd Wade, Gary Walker? 4 yrs- not one free agent impact player- zero, not one. 4 yrs- drafted Andre Johnson, Duanta Robinson and D. Davis- these are 3 quality players. The rest of the team needs an overhaul. And I would include David Carr as a good selection if he wasn't the #1 overall pick and he was more than a QB with a 75% pass rating and very little ability to take over a game and win. I am so tired of Casserly's decisions.
That was my point...put Steve on the Hawks and let him showcase what he can do and he is a star player. Put him on the Knicks and he is average. Thats why Im saying that you can't purely judge a DE in a 3-4 system off of number of sacks.
Well, a monkey would have chosen Andre and Dunta at those draft positions, so Casserly didnt do anything impressive there. That leave D. Davis as the quality pick...over 4 years. Casserly is absolutely clueless.
What is the word on Wong? Will he be back for sure? I thought Greenwood was a good pickup last season but we have an obvious glaring hole at MLB. As for Babin, I've always wanted to see what this kid can do at his original position but I'll have to admit that I've lost a lot of faith in him, I'm more excited to see Peek at DE.
I haven't heard anything regarding Wong, but if he indeed had an avulsion fracture (which I am pretty sure that is what he had) he should recover without too many problems. Greenwood was WAAY too small to play inside, and they overpaid him. I think he will play better in his natural position on the WS. I think Babin will end up when it is all said and done being a good DE, and I think Peek will be good as well. I like that they have talked about putting Babin, TJ, Weaver, and Peek on the field together during passing situations. I think these guys will do a good job. OUr new DC was on the radio talking specifically about Peek and Babin. He said that most people don't realize that it takes most college DEs trying to switch to OLBs several seasons to make the adjustment of playing in space. He gave the example fo Posey. He coached Posey in SF and said they spent 2-3 years teaching him how to play the OLB, but he didn't seem to blossom until he got here. He thought both Peek and Babin will transition back to DE very easily since this is what they are most comfortable with.
