I agree, this smacks of Peter Vescey journalism. I enjoy listening to Richie on 1560, but this stir the pot article pisses me off.

The reality of things is more than tedious. Everybody want excitement. So do journalists.

It's Richard Justice so the most likely he is not.

I just want him back on the court so we can see if he can make any difference for the team.

No they won't, because he will still be an expiring contract, and why give anything for him at all, if they can simply go after him in free agency?

This is the thing that I believe most people do not understand, there is nothing to gain from the Rockets perspective with Tmac....

Sure, he comes in plays great the team wins a few more games, but still is not a contender.......sounds good, but it hinders the development of Brooks, Lowry, CBud, Ariza, by them having to share the ball with Tmac.

All it does, is help Tmac by showing the rest of the league what he can do coming up in his free agency.

There is nothing to gain at all from the Rockets perspective by letting him play.......his contract is the reason.

It is expiring regardless of whether he plays well or crap.

It is like he is in limbo.

I just don't see it as a major obstacle. Tmac won't demand 38-40 minutes a game. There will be minutes for all. You act like you just had a panic attack.

LOL - look at you always with the personal jabs based upon nothing other than your own personal perceptions....like you can actually see how people feel when they type, it is really cute.

As for the topic......having him play any minutes takes time away from others, there is nothing to be gained for the Rockets long term plans by playing TMac.

He is an albatross hanging around the franchise neck.

I could see the Rockets trading him as well as other teams not willing to trade for him, and the Rocket's Marburying him if they can't trade him.

What I don't see is them giving him much time unless he is 100% committed to running, playing defense, and moving off the ball.....

My bet is the MRI looks good, and the team says...great, now we will have him go full out in practice, and when we think he is fit, he will play.

No way they let him work his way into shape on the floor.....I just don't think that will happen.

He averaged 16ppg last year on one leg, and there is no reason to think he can't put up more right now. I dont understand why people feel like Ariza and Brooks are ok as our go to options down the stretch. Ariza can't create for himself and it seems like half the time Brooks touches the ball in the 4th quarter, he throws the ball to the defense. Tracy makes this team so much better. He should start with Shane, and bring Trevor off the bench where he can play starters minutes in Battiers place and run with the second group.

Like Doc said, "where there's smoke there's fire". It's true that people only see and believe where they want to see and believe.

Personally I hope too never see Tracy in a Rockets uniform. To me it would be greatly satisfying knowing the last time Tracy wore a Rockets jersey was in the Rockets locker room pouting that he wanted to play and never was aloud too again. As soon as Tracy is gone we can stop all these Tracy lover vs hater threads, and life can return to normal at Clutch Fans.

After the way Tracy treated the team last year, does he really deserve to play? and will his teammates embrace him or reject him? Does Tracy want to play because he wants to help the team or does he want to play for his own benefit?

To me it seems that Tracy is the one who has been Iso'ed, and he was Iso'ed by his own doing.

DD, I always respect what you say and of course we have different opinions, but if your going to play the let the team develop card, then why is Shane Battier taking minutes from Chase Budinger, and heck even Jermaine Taylor. If you are so on to letting our team grow over winning, then the same thing fits for Shane. Its a tough situation, for sure.

It is going to be hard for any rookie to earn playing time. You can't give anyone a wild card as Dakota wants to do. Sure I like Cbud but at the end of the day it is a natural process to struggle for minutes in your first year.

I see this one or two many times on the board.

When (er, uh, "if"), Tmac gets traded, he won't go alone. By himself, he isn't worth much, unless he's allowed to play for the Rockets and shows he's got some of the old mojo. He doesn't have to dazzle, just to play well enough that the fans of the team that acquires him don't crucify their owner/GM (or stop showing up to games completely).

When/if Tmac goes, he'll go with Scola, or with Landry, or with Brooks, or with Budinger, some good young player on a decent contract.

The Rockets will have to get a superstar in return if giving up Landry or Brooks with Mcgrady. We would be getting ripped off if we didnt, because they both have potential to be very good players in this league.

Relax, Landry is already 26, he isn't going to be a superstar or a star. A good roleplayer, yes.
