Or, just let him sit and collect the insurance money. 1. We are playing pretty well using the "team" concept of hustle and unselfishness. Tracy historically, is not a team player. At best there is no reason to rush him in to the line-up. 2. Under the rules the only way to trade him is to take back equivalent contracts i.e. bad. No one is going to trade you any player of real value for Tracy. Why take on bad contracts to to get rid of him when you can just let his contract expire? 3. I don't know for a fact but I believe if you released him you would still be on the hook for the 23 mill but you would not collect the insurance money. 4. I don't believe a player in Tracy's position has any leverage to force the team to do anything. I think he will play this year though. It will purely be RA's call on when and how much. When is he really ready to play? When will the team a change of pace? or when will we need to replace and injured player? When he does get in, is it a positive for the team?, is he physically able? Does he accept the new philosophy or is he trying to showcase Tmac for a future contract. Hell, maybe he will be Tmac.
Do you really think anyone in the organization is going to go on record with Justice and dog McGrady? This organization has covered for McGrady every time he has done something to diss the organization. The owner, the GM, and the coach have covered his but on countless occasions. They have to be tired of his act by now.
i don't agree with the way mac handles things but this article is very damaging and is written to hurt the rockets...especially if it's not 100% accurate.
Everyone knows Justice writes the most controversial interpretation of events anyway. His job is to sell papers.
sounds to me justice thinks t-mac will never suit up again. like it or not that article was what most rockets fans were thinking about me-mac.
He'll play. But it will be when the Rockets want and need him to. If Ariza, Budinger or Battier sprain an ankle, Tracy will be declared "ready to play".
If two reporters are reporting different things, and one of the reporters is Richard Justice, always assume the OTHER reporter is right and that Richard is basing his report off his imagination. It will save you time.
where was this concern for his health when they let him go out on one leg and play the last part of that 07-08 season and playoffs. if you wanna blame tracy now make sure you throw some of that blame to the org' also.
Seems like I remember this whole topic from last year. Thought it was dismissed as being untrue, speculation, myth, conjecture, and HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYperbole - - but....when the building is on fire, smoke will surely follow. It always does, that's physics. With that said, it would be intriguing to see Tmac on the floor again. Hmm, maybe we will again...somehow--someday.
Welcome back Doc ! Since Tracy is expiring, the only one helped by him getting back on the court is himself. I doubt the organization is all that keen on highlighting a player that will be leaving, IMO, he is just a big expiring contract. DD
why is justice knocking tmac for not being committed during the playoffs? dude is one of the top scorers of all time in the playoffs. the knock should be on him not being committed during the regular season.
no, his contract is guaranteed... Cut him and we still have to pay him... Glad Doc Rocket is back and telling you what I have been saying to all of you... There is a problem and it starts with #3.
Keep tmac away. Just like Justice said if he was really about playing he wouldve played in the playoffs in past years but its always about him so I hope the rockets keep collecting insurance money as long as they can.
