This is getting really old, really fast. Why can't we just wait until next week to see what happens? Let the Rockets and McGrady handle the situation themselves. There is absolutely no reason for all of this.
More photos? Is that from chinise sources? Btw, his body looks to be in great shape. And he is not fat at all.
You do realize this article is listed under commentary and also doesn't match with 2 other articles written under news/notes by the reporter who actually is assigned to report on the Rockets of the same newspaper. Monday won't come fast enough....
Maybe Justice wrote it per request of Fran Blinebury LOL. If I didn't know who wrote it, I thought it would be Fran.
"Like when McGrady proclaimed his devotion to the Orlando Magic franchise and then abandoned it by sitting out the final 15 games of the 2004 season because the team was mired in the East cellar. Later he openly admitted to a national magazine that he didn't always play hard for the Magic. Like when McGrady said, "It's all on me" prior to the 2007 first-round playoff series against the Utah Jazz and then, after the loss, said "It was never on me." Like last year when McGrady came into training camp vowing to play his way into shape following an offseason knee surgery and then merely played a cat-and-mouse game in and out of the lineup that held the whole Houston Rockets' organization and season hostage. When Ron Artest said last week on his visit back to town with the Lakers that his one-season stay in Houston was "very challenging," he was referring greatly to the daily diva routine of McGrady. Last season, T-Mac often kept his teammates guessing whether he'd play on any given night almost right up until the opening tip. Even when McGrady finally decided to shut himself down for the season to undergo the microfracture procedure on his left knee, that decision came just a week after he had declared himself "back" and was not even considering surgery. The Rockets got the news by watching TV and reading it on T-Mac's Web site. Coach Rick Adelman was furious. The members of the front office rolled their collective eyes. Many of McGrady's teammates felt betrayed." Blinebury is an ass, but this is all unfortunately true...Diva+5... How about when he picked the Lakers to win a championship last year when his teammates were going to war in the playoffs? Look, Tracy is not a bad guy, and not a bad basketball player, but he is most certainly a diva...
The truth to this drama probably lies down the middle. Not to thr polar extremes of Feigan story and the Justice story. Remember that Feigan is the eat writer for the rockets. If he doesn't print what they want, they won't feed him any juicy stories. Also remember that Justice is the same dude that went on a rant for weeks because his buddies (the Texans' strenght and conditioning coach and some other guy) got fired by Rick Smith. Justice's journalistic style, if you care to call it journalism, is sensationalistic at best. Especially when he writes about anything other ten baseball.
Sorry for all the typo's. Wrote this entry on my blackberry at 327 in the AM while one soe seriously potent cough medicine.
I agree with you Tmac is high maintenance. That's what really sets him apart from the team nowadays. With Von and Artest gone, Tmac's the only high maintenance player we have, the rest are hard working down no complaints dudes. However why are you taking the bolded part against him? We had no Yao, and no Tmac when we went up against the Lakers. It doesn't matter if we were going up against the Lakers at the time, you honestly think the Rockets had a chance to win the championship with Ron Artest leading the way? IIRC the question was, "who do you think will win the championship?" If I was the one asked and I said the Lakers, then that would be a safe, logical pick. Tmac picked the Lakers and he should be burned at the stake WTF?!?! Last time I checked, the Lakers did indeed win the championship.Maybe you should get your head checked as well
Have you ever been part of a team? Have you ever been part of a team, that would die for eachother, for a win? Tracy was part of our team, and he was picking against us. I have a problem with that. Ron had a problem with that. Ron was right...
The new claims involving Morey, Keith Jones, and Alexander weren't opinion. Justice's description of Adelman and McGrady's conversation being tense doesn't mean there are "contradictory fact patterns" A tense conversation can be with or without raised voices and emotional or not.
Would you pick the Lakers to win it all, IF YOU WERE ON THE ROCKETS? If you would, I would call you a ****ty teammate, and a coward, among other things. I would like to hear the answer. I question your fandom, your loyalty, and your heart, And I would like to put "this" type of fan on ignore, if in fact this is what you believe...
If everyone answers that way, what's the point of asking players questions? Kobe on who guards him the best: Sasha Vujacic-cuz he's on my team! Shaq on center he respects the most: Varejao-cuz he's on my team! LBJ on why the number 23 should be retired: "Cuz I'm wearing it! Why else, you think I'd have it retired because of some other dude NOT ON MY TEAM?!?!?!" Look, he was asked who he thought would win the championship. Is it his fault if he thought the reporter would ask him based on the teams who realistically had a chance to win? I pick the Rox to win it all last season without Yao and without Mac and I'm a homer. He picks the Lakers and suddenly he's betrayed the team? Wow, just wow. SO you honestly tell me if someone asks you who you think will win the championship you pick the Rox? And what if that person asks you think they will win it all? You say cuz its your team?
There isn't a point to asking players these types of questions. It's a PR game, and there's a certain way to handle the media (especially if your team is currently playing against the team you think would win). It's just like how you don't believe a word from the mouth of a politician, but people still rip them a new one if they gave a less-than-PC answer. Is Tracy a "traitor" for picking the Lakers? Probably not. Is he an idiot with no tact? Yes, certainly.
The media is trying their best to turn this into a circus. This is unbelievable. Is there nothing else going on in Houston sports? Seriously, all they have to talk about mcgrady and things non sports related?
Exactly. I'm definitely wondering though why is Tmac always ending up in **** like this? He never raped anyone, or appeared in gang videos, yet he gets way more flak than Kobe and Melo in their "hateful" years...and this is just par for the course for Tmac lol. I personally think its because Tmac hired his buddies as his PR manager (the same way he hired that trainer dude who ruined his career). Since Tmac seems to be a dive in real life nobody bothered to point him in the right direction.
So you are comparing the Rockets to Sasha Vujacic and Anderson Varejao now? Not surprised... You should call ESPN and ask for an application... The Rockets DID have a chance to win!!! We TOOK THE CHAMPIONS TO 7!!! If I was on the Rockets last year, and we were destroying the Blazers like we did, I would stand by my team. I would have all the confidence in the world in my teammates, that have shed blood, sweat and tears to get to this point. I would have said, "Rockets in 7 baby...". That's because I, unlike Tracy, am a good teammate... If you can't understand this, than I am quite certain you have never accomplished anything truly great as a part of a team. You don't pick your team to lose, no matter HOW GREAT THE ODDS...THAT IS WHAT BEING A TEAM IS ALL ABOUT!!! Anyways, welcome to ignore. I have no time for Tracy fans that have no faith, confidence and loyalty. Only time for oldschool, pridefull Rocket fans...
We DID HAVE Yao when Tracy said this nonsense... We had...... Aaron Brooks Shane Battier Ron Artest Luis Scola Yao Ming --------------------------- Carl Landry Kyle Lowry Von Wafer
That's not being a fan, that's being a homer. All that talk about picking your team to win even if you're running on 30% capspace seems nice, but the reality is not so rosy. If you really mean what you say, why don't you make a bet with me right here right now? Let's each bet 500$ on whether the Rockets would win the championship this year. Since you seem to be a "real" Rox fan who picks them to win no matter the odds, that shouldn't be a problem right? Oh yeah you put me on ignore. LOL what a loser. I wish I knew who you really are so I could come over there and kick the stupidity out of you.
