Lost 15lbs and came out of the gate like an absolute superstar. And he was great after the elbow injury, too, shooting over 45%. It wasn't until the leg injuries did he start to really struggle.
even though I believe TMac has a penchant for over-dramatizing his injuries, I have to agree with you here. i did the half-marathon in January 07, and i really messed up my left knee. it'll never be the same again, and playing on it, even just once, is enough to put me back into agony.
Sweet Lou, I can't believe you just compared TMac to Duncan. you're calling the rest of the BBS 'ridiculous?'
t-mac is hurt and he should take his time to heal his knee get well mac, god bless you hopefully the team will keep the winning streak, go rockets!!!
yeah - i was thinking the same thing when i first heard that it might be a "bone bruise." a bone bruise is VERY different from a regular skin contusion, and if that's what Mac genuinely has, then we should probably back off.
on the other hand, i also agree with you and Old Man Rock - i've been wondering the same idea to myself over the last 3 weeks. what are the chances that TMac doesn't want to get traded away, and will kill his trade value to no end to make sure nothing happens?
CleRenda? is that you? i really respect your unabashed effort to continue defending TMac, but c'mon, Lou. there are plenty of reasons to question his motivation. it's not exactly unfounded, either. look around - there's a reason he's no longer regarded in the same class as Wade, LeBron, Kobe, or even Melo. I hope you're right. i hope for karma's sake it's not TMac just trying to sabotage a possible trade. maybe it also had to do something with "it's on me" and the fact that he was afraid of forcing contact. still, you're right - at least he was crying. now all he does is grin like an idiot. i hate to tell you this, but one of the main reasons there's "nothing but praise for the guy" is b/c his ego is so fragile he can't take a lick of criticism. he's what you'd call, umm, mentally weak. i found this to be especially objectionable. first you put him in the same sentence as MJ & Kobe. those guys have their faults, but TMac is nowhere close to their competitive level. more importantly, you're saying we can't call him out for being lazy b/c he "does more 'then' average?" umm, we're not paying him "more 'then' average." we're paying him more than $18M. he acts like a diva, exaggerates his injuries, grimaces for the camera on every play, and has never been confused with a 1st-team all-defensive-caliber player like Kobe or MJ, or even Bowen. there are plenty of reasons he deserves to be called lazy. stop drinking the koolaid, and watch TMac 'play' when he does and doesn't have the ball in his hands.
i think this should become someone's new sig. this has all the makings of "All your base are belong to us."
So typical, someone always has to be the black sheep. This time it's T-mac, I guess people are just that pathetic.
All these criticisms remind just me how people wanted YAO to be traded during his injury last year. So sad.
They bash him over in Orlando, and up in Toronto too. Coincidence? People are bashing him for a reason. If Battier got injured, he wouldn't get this reaction. Ben Wallace, Kevin Garnett, Stephen Jackson, Bruce Bowen, Tyshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton, and Paul Pierce. These are tough players. Guys who play through injuries, 80+ gamers. And guys who put their body at risk every game as much or more than McGrady does. It's become obvious in the NBA that it's up to the player how much he wants to play through injuries. That's why there are the Vince Carter's and the Tracy McGrady's, and the Kevin Garnett's and Tyshaun Prince's. McGrady is getting negative reaction because he's soft. He's soft, and he lacks passion for this team's success. When compared to other franchise players like Kobe, A.I., Garnett, Duncan, he is underacieving. When you consistently miss multiple games every season like T-Mac, it becomes more than just a bad coincidence. He has Larry Hughes/Baron Davis syndrome. Quoted for its significance.
Clyde was carried off in a stretcher and Clyde was much older at the time. Tmac was injured and then missed 1 game but still managed to show up on TNT all smiles and then came back the next game against Chicago and looked pretty good. Then he mysteriously reinjured it in Detroit and checked it in. So now he is so much worse and can't show up at even the home games. Is he that injured he can't even show up on the sidelines and support the guys. Or is he just faking it? Probably not faking it but maybe just maybe he is milking it. I don't know but if he is you have to ask why. Are we talking about one of the most wimpy players in the NBA just doesn't want to be out there. Are perhaps there is another reason. Perhaps all of this is just miscommunication and just an example of TMac's lack of personality coming to the forefront. That would be nice but Tracy on more than 1 occasion has acknowledged that basketball isn't his number one passion. So maybe he just doesn't enjoy playing the game when he is not 100%. So maybe wants an extended break so that when he performs he is at the top of his game. That's certainly not the worst scenario albeit not idea either. All will be forgiven if TMac comes back and plays with a vengeance and I will be the first to apologize. But if his healing coincides to closely with the end of the trading deadline than I will find that very suspect and a convenient coincidence for someone who has been rumored to be on the block.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Why do we need a 33 years old 32% shooter that is an ave. rebounder at this point of his career with a Huge contract and an undersizes SG that the only thing he does is shoot. I prefer Hayes 100 times over the ultra overrated Big Ben. If that is the only trade we got for him just better stay with a 52 games player on T-Mac.
