There are so many reasons why Tim Duncan shouldn't be held to the same scrutiny as Tracy McGrady that I know for a fact that I don't have to point them out to you. You know better.
Watch tmac come back and give us a new quote "If we dont make the playoffs, it's on me" " yaeh yeah it's on me"
There is a big difference between being injured and being hurt. I think T-Mac is hurt, but not really injured. If you are in pain, but playing with the pain does not impact when it will ultimately resolve and poses no long term implications, you need to man up. I will use Yao's tag line - SOFT. Yet another reason T-Mac's SUPERSTAR status is revoked until further notice.
This really sucks for 2 reasons- 1) With the team finally getting this system, it is really going to be a culture shock when he comes back. Not because he is a ballhog or stagnates the offense, but because they will once again have to feed such a high profile scorer. 2) The team historically sucks without T-Mac, and with the schedule finally lightening up we need him to be here to help tally some wins so we get a decent seed in the playoffs.
Tmac is definitely injured. A bone bruise is painful as hell. It also decreases your power and flexibility in your leg (essentially you'd be running around on 1 leg). Recovery is through rest and pain meds. Making him play will only hinder his recovery as well as increase his chance of further injury (either in the same knee or in the other due to overcompensation).
Layup against the Lakers a while back was with 0.3 seconds left... Give me a break thats still a buzzer beater.
Deep bone bruise takes long time to heal and it's very painful especially it's in the knee. You feel pain when you walk or apply pressure on it. I think T-Mac will probably out for another 2 week. It's no good but injuries happen. This is the challenge of this season. The fortunate thing is we have a "soft" January schedule. Bonzi plays well (except scoring) in starting for T-Mac. The Rockets only need other players to step up their scorings and they will be fine. The difference in this season is Rick Adelman is the coach and his offense will bring out more potentials from the other players. With the way the Rockets are playing and fighting, I am not worrying a bit about it. Let's go Rockets!
Things will be very tough without Tmac. Good shooting is essential. But on the other hand, this could a blessing in disguise. This group right now are playing well together and developing some chemistry. It's a good test to see about RA's system. We all know JVG couldnt buy a win without Tmac.
Interesting theory. It's really a double edged sword. If the Rockets play decent without him in this period, he could be on the way out soon.
People, this is the same injury that Ahman Green had this season. He was on Sports Radio 610 every week talking about how good it would feel a day or so and then flare up the next. He said it really was painful to cut, plant and jump off the leg. Andre Ware, who says he once had the same injury, has continuously said that it's something he couldn't get rid of for months and lots of rest. I know this comes off as, and very well could be, TMac being TMac but this is a very painful injury based on those two guys with experience dealing with it. Regardless, it's time for Morey to pull some magic out of a hat and find a scoring wing-player in trade.
It's not this injury people are complaining about. It's disturbing that he is so injury-prone. The legs, knee, wrist, back, any parts could go wrong on a human's body went wrong for him. Couple together his recent court demeanor and historical comments like taking days off in Olando and wanting to call it quit at age 30, people have really grown annoyed. Yao is injury-prone too, but he is still pretty tough guy fighting off injuries or illness, and his work ethic just beyond praise, day and night.
F**k it, let McGrady get his rest. Let's just enjoy the energy and effort the rest of the players have been giving and the chemistry that's finally starting to emerge, win or lose.
