Exactly. The current problem is not chronic, the previous bulging disk problem doesn't merit surgery and yet... it's still an option if every previous diagnosis was incorrect. This reeks of bs, but since T-Mac isn't available to play it's possible that this latest exam is worth it at least as a PR move for the casul Rox fan. Or maybe management wants him to shut it down and are afraid that T-Mac might go to the press a week from now and say he's ready to play. Nothing is going to come out of this latest exam.
No press releases on the Rockets website. No news from the Chronicle. No radio reports. I guess we have to wait until tomorrow's stories are posted, or later for the exam results that were supposed to be available today. Hope they take the time to do an accurate press release. For the entire year there has been very little accurate information on his condition. It's private info, but if you are going to release as much as they have, you might as well get it straight. Until then, I'm suspicious.
Heard through a reliable source that T-Mac IS in fact having back surgery. The Rockets will make the announcement later this week. My source said he will be having the surgery in L.A. next month. Needless to say, T-Mac is done for this season and so are the Rockets. Hopefully this will help in the long run.
I guess it's pointless to talk about back surgery that didn't work, such as mine. We really have no clue as to just what's up with Tracy. Many people have come back (no pun intended) from back surgery, and surprisingly well. I have every confidence that McGrady will get the finest surgeon available. It's a terrible thing to happen to our season, but if it ultimately fixes what's been keeping the guy in and out of the lineup, affecting his play, causing us to lose games we should have won, and driving McGrady (as well as the rest of us) crazy, then we will be glad next year. The one bright light in this is how Yao and Alston have stepped up, especially Yao, who's obviously "gotten it." We are seeing the big man we dreamed of when we drafted him. That's cause for rejoicing. Aside from that, damn, this season is a nightmare!
Surprised nobody has brought this up - today's Chronilce said that after running the tests Sunday and Monday everyone has decided that TMac needed more tests. Not sure whether that is a good thing, but they are still trying to figure something out.
Yao could turn into Wilt and we will never win a title without a healthy T-MAC as long as he is on the books at that salery.
I saw it too, you may have to get a hard copy, its in the rockets notes section, or summary, I don't know what its called.
Yeah, it was in the physical paper when I went in to work this morning. No idea why it is not online.
How many tests are there? Seriously. And why haven't they been done already? Since allegedly his current problem is from his most recent fall, why in hell wasn't every conceivable test done before T-Mac got back on the court? I can't believe this is making any kind of sense to anyone.
The way Feigen worded it was kind of funny. Something along the lines of "after examining his MRI and test results on Sunday and Monday the Rocket's doctors have concluded that...more testing is needed." I think the new stuff was supposed to be today and tomorrow or maybe tomorrow & Thurs. Obviously something is bordeline. Either they think they see something and need more looks to verify or they are unsure what it is they are seeing and need to approach it from new angles to make it more clear.
Are there players that had back surgery that were able to come back and play at the level they played before the injury? This is not a rhetorical question.
Worrell just said during the game that McGrady was going to have an "injection" in his back. He had no idea what that meant, but speculated that they were trying to get Tracy back for the remainder of the season. It sounds ridiculous to me.
If that's true and they're just desperate to make something out of this season (which won't happen anyways), then this is the dumbest and most short-sighted franchise in the league.
Well, it's either that or he is in immense pain from his back and they had to give him a shot to relieve it.
