Damn our management. CD sounds like a slow-minded fool getting played by Jerry West and Mike James. It's like everything he expects to happen falls through and he's got no backup plan.

We draft Gay and make a hasty trade, despite having all the time in the world to explore our options. Then we get turned down by Mike James and do nothing while other free agents sign up with other teams. Gee, we sure know how to make the most out of our assets, don't we?

Oh, but Sura going to practice makes me happy in the pants. I don't care if he has to crawl up and down the court, I'd just be happy to see him play again. Go Sura!

You know, if there was anybody on this team the last couple of years that could come back from career-threatening knee problems, I think Sura is the guy.

If we could get him back, even if he is only able to go 15 minutes a game, it would be HUGE. Remember two years ago, I think it was his first game he really played after he was injured the first part of the season, he came in against Golden State if I'm not mistaken and just completely injected life into the team until he was so gased that he had to come out. He's a huge part of what they were missing last year, and getting him back would mean that we could focus on bringing in a SG or maybe a PF rather than PG.

man I get tired of this ****.

seems like I'm the only one here who remembers what the situation was. The situation was that Mike James basically stated publicly that after the season was over he was going to the highest bidder. We could be here right now with no Rafer AND no Mike James.

The news that Sura may be back is good news to my eyes. Even if he is at 80% he'll be a huge assett in a depleated backcourt. If he is 90% or greater we aren't looking as bad as we were yesterday. Depending on what happens we might yet turn out to be in good shape. But don't worry Clutchfans! There will always be plenty to b**** about.

I was under the impression this thread was about Sura returning to practice. There are about 5 other threads for people to continue b****ing about Mike James not signing with the Rockets or Carroll Dawson's brilliant trades.
    :p

btw, I'm not a CD fan, but everyone thought Carroll Dawson was a genuis when he dumped Mo Taylor, and Jim Jackson, and brought in Mike James, Jon Barry, and David Wesley. Now he is an idiot...

    I'm MIKE JAMES..BIATCH!!!! :D

JVG and Cd have said over and over that Sura was only going to miss one year.

This whole "he's done, he's through, his career is over" business came soley from the imagination of fans.

There was never any mention from the medical staff reports that he was done.

Only initially that he might have a 30 percent chance of not playing again if his surgery didn't go well.

AFTER the surgery the doctors then assess how the surgery went.

It was always reported that his surgery was a success and that he was on a basic microfracture recovery basis.

8 months to be able to run, 12 months to be able to play, 18 months for full 100 percent recovery.

So the whole idea that he was done was not ever based on fact.

It's actually a little odd that he had about the same surgery/injury at about the same age as Kidd and was given more time off and yet 90 percent of the fans stated he was "done" as if it was a fact that he actually retired.

I'm glad to see Sura back.

I hope JL III is as good as everyone been saying about him. Now, we just need some better power forwards. Is Cato available?

I hope this is for real. I'll be thrilled if Sura is back and at the level he was before he was injured. I can't count on it though. It'll be interesting to see who the Rockets bring in now.

Also, they didn't state that they started forming plan B yesterday. They stated plan b began yesterday. That's different.

    Don't jinx it.

I seem to remember Kobe having some of those freak injuries like breaking his hand getting out of the shower and slicing his hand open on a broken window or something like that.

I am glad Sura is making a comeback, he could become our designated 'goon' to take out Josh Howard and other like-minded a**holes in the league...

and this is what I have to look forward too. AWESOME! I am only 5 months post op from microfracture and acl reconstruction. I wish I never had the microfracture. it sucks. you can't do anything without your knee being sore and it just takes forever to heal.

CAUTION!!!!!!!! This is a ploy to redirect your attention and criticism of Rockets Management. Will you stop thinking about the state of affairs and have a glad feeling all over because 33 year old Bob Sura , just 'might' play again.
I say NO! I won't loose my focus on how much the Rockets present Management have messed up this offseason..... I won't buy my season tickets till I see what they put together for the WIN NOW senario!!

Very true...Yao is fine...Tmac is alright.

Rocket fans will then be relieved and happy.

    It always works.

That's true to some extent I'm sure, BUT

Here's the thing, if Sura comes back then not signng James not only seems much less of an issue, it very well may have been the RIGHT move.

With Sura, Rafer, Lucas III, possibly even Spanoulis IMO do absolutely don't need Mike James, in fact there are other needs like a bigger SG with length and athleticism (Stevenson or Jones maybe though Jones is long shot being he's a RFA) or another 4/5, who is a 4 with size and anothet body at C, sort of what Cato did before, maybe evn Cato who knows.

But the point is if management suddenly got the confirmation that Sura did play a few games and was ok and the knee didn't flare uo and doctors looked at it and said he will be fine, then James not taking the Rockets deal probably helped.

Because then they would have wasted money on someone IMO they didn't need. Personally I'd take Sura if he's ready over James any day.

And that allows other areas to be shored up, maybe get a guy like Padgett, like Cato, Spanoulis, Ariza or Stevenson, etc.

Probably none of those players would have been added if they signed James.

This all assumes Sura will play, but the point is, the article may in fact BE doing what you are saying, BUT if Sura is playing then basically it's true nonetheless.

I don't think James and Alston belonged on the floor together, so I agree to a certain extent.... BUT, with a significant probability that Sura will never fully recover from his knee AND back surgeries (5 since he joined the Rockets), the Rockets can only proceed under the assumption that Sura will not return at all or will reinjure himself prior to the playoffs.

The other thing is, signing James and signing a taller shooting guard are not exclusive of one another. Both could have happened. Alston could have then been shipped out for a more useful player had things gone well for him and his trade value increased.

Anyway, theoretically I agree. In reality, it doesn't appear right now that we are in a position to be so picky.
