i wish he'll come back and get some minutes. a healthy francis is exactly what we need, a penetrating guard who can finish. He could be our solution to teams fronting Yao.

Still sticking to my mid-December call for suiting up, and carcking the rotation in January. Rick has used AB and Rafer together at times, and that is how I see Francis getting into the rotation at first. Francis as the PG and AB as shooting guard. Once he gets in and starts making plays then Rick will find a spot for him. And the longer Tracy is out the faster he will get into the rotation.

And to all the "numb-nut, career-ending, done and out, psychic Francis quitters for no good reasoning" out there ... you're forgiven. Get back on the Francis bandwagon. He will not let you down this year.

I really do hope he starts pushing Rafer for his position. I think Rafer has started to take his starting job for granted and is starting to play like he's the man (jacking up shots, taking heat checks, setting up plays for himself, getting into personal battles with the other team's point etc) when he really should be the last option on the court. Hopefully having Francis breathing on his neck will allow Alston to focus more and become the force he was last season...

I've always defended Rafer but he's been absolute garbage. I'd be more than willing to let Steve eat into his minutes. Barry's too.

If Stevie can come back at 75% of his old self, it'll make this team stronger. I REALLY hope that happens because that solidifies our back court. Only 2 point guards is a weakness. One injury/suspension means trouble. All that said, I'll believe it when I see it.

...and we still need a backup C.

Stevie would be lucky to play himself onto the active roster, let alone get playing time.

I don't even think he can take Head's minutes.

could be one Morey's move to put some pressure on Alston to step it up by saying Francis is on his way back. realistically i think he's about 2 months away or maybe more, he havent played for so long hardly logging any NBA minutes the past 2-3yrs, i'd say chances are very remote for Francis to come back and contribute big time, but still, as a die hard Rockets fan, i truly hope he proves me wrong.

When he actually gets in a game and atually contributes then you can talk smack, until then you suck it!

I still say the only way SF will help tis team ia as an expiring contract or trade for his contract.

well, as always i'm rooting for him. the funny thing to me is he has a chance at playing time even more than last season with brooks not in the equation. however, now that battier's back that will lock down some of the guard rotation and we won't be seeing rafer/brooks backcourts anymore

Fat Francis's Penetration to the Rim > Tracy McLady's Penetration to the Rim

    LMAO

He isn't coming back. How many times have we heard this guy say one thing only to find out the opposite is true. He can't admit that he is done. Sounds like the organization is aware of that, however.
