This tells you the Rudy T/CD regime, to JVG/CD regime were not very much successful except in the beginning when they won the two championships. JVG/CD just tried to stabilize the team, getting rid of all the bad contracts from the Rudy T/CD era. Les basically pushed Rudy and JVG out, forced CD out, got his new guy Morey without consultation from CD, so both CD and Lindsey can't be happy. So this is a completely new regime, let's see how it turns out.

It is clear he is not happy with the situation here, that's why he leaves. No doubt about it. The question is who the Rox hires to replace him.

This is a blow and nobody here can blame Lindsey because if he and Morey both do their job there is no position for Dennis greater than what he has. I sure hope we can find someone else who can lend a different opinion than the one Morey gives you.

times are a changing. I like someone else said, i dont know how much input the guy actually had, so its hard to get too upset or happy that he is gone.
But he certainly was treated the best by the boss.

I'm sorry, but I don't see why we should have been eager to promote anyone from within this organization to the top spot.

The org hasn't made many good decisions in drafting or free agent signings in awhile.

it only took him one interview just to go to the spurs? wow, he must be mad at les or morey... hopefully, morey can pick the right people in the draft without lindsey. i doubt rockets can sign anyone in a week, and expect them to help out on the draft which is in 10 days. more reasons to trade the pick, i guess.

The other problem is, 10 days from the draft, all our draft strategy now goes to the freaking Spurs along with Lindsey, as does the free agency and trading possibilities. We might as well tell the Spurs: Hey, we like this guy. You want him? Be quick.

I dislike Les as much as anyone, but you have to admit our CD/Lindsey braintrust has a poor track record. Morey is a big question mark but we needed a major change. The timing of this is bad but so be it.

Spurs hold two second rounders, the 33rd and 57th picks, in the draft.

Morey needs to get his GM-freak on and demand both.

It's funny how the Spurs are now viewed as such a smart organization. They lucked into Duncan - that's it. Had that not happened, they'd be a joke.

According to Fran the Rockets aren't picking up a second pick from the Spurs. I wonder why Riley was able to demand & get a second rounder from Orlando for Stan van Gundy?

    Spurs Hire Dennis Lindsey

Spurs Welcome Lindsey To Front Office

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have named Dennis Lindsey vice president/assistant general manager.

Lindsey has spent the past 11 seasons with the Houston Rockets, the last five as vice president of basketball operations/player personnel. Prior to being named vice president, Lindsey spent three seasons as director of player personnel. During the 1998-99 season, he served as the Rockets director of player development. Lindsey joined the Rockets in 1996 as personnel video coordinator/scout.

“I am thrilled to have Dennis Lindsey joining our program,” said Spurs General Manger RC Buford. “I have the greatest respect for the Rockets franchise and am impressed with all that he accomplished as a member of their organization. Dennis brings a wealth of knowledge to our staff and we are all very excited about his future with the Spurs.”

Prior to joining the Rockets, Lindsey was the assistant basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Pensacola Junior College for two years. Before venturing to Pensacola, Lindsey was the assistant head coach at Fort Worth Southwest High School.

A starter at Baylor University, Lindsey helped the Bears advance to the NCAA Tournament in 1988 and the NIT Tournament in 1990. After graduating from Baylor with a bachelor's degree in education in 1992, Lindsey received his master's in sports management in 1994 from the United States Sports Academy.

I swore that i would never tune to SR610 after the purges took john and lance away from us;but I couldn't resist myself......Lindsey was on today and he commented on "seeing something big happening at the four position",in relation to the rockets....It should be on the podcast.

on the topic of late news,Germany has surrendered :p
