Damn, this upcoming season really is going to be a new era for the Rockets with all the personnel changes.

Oh yeah great talent evaluator as he trades Richard Jefferson for Eddie Griffen and passes on Lewis for 3 guys not even in the league. He was not horrible but he is nothing special.

He did not have final say, he was able to voice his opinion. I am sure he is trying to get to a job where he does have final say.

on the surface this seems like a rather big blow to the organization, but really i have no idea how much of a contribution he makes to trades, free agents, and the draft. morey is a rookie gm and while i know cd is there to help him out, i'd have more confidence with lindsey also behind him. i guess we'll see.

Then he went to the wrong place. R.C. and Pop will have the final say in San Antonio until they retire. Sam Presti didn't have final say (which is why he left) and neither will Dennis Lindsey.

But he may actually get a shot at the GM spot when Presti leaves.

Because Les apparently didn't want him as GM when CD retired, and that is what he was being groomed for.....so, he did the right thing for his career.

cd promised him the job, but was fired and les hired morey without even consulting cd. keith jones was promised a job exclusively in the front office and that never materialized either. they just fired the assistant trainer and the equipment manager. dennis will be missed. he was the basketball brains

Funny how SAS get 'raided' and then Lindsey gets the op to go to SAS. hey, our Rox org. was raided - by the best org. in the Association!

    Good luck, Dennis.

Better luck, Rox, in getting a high quality replacement, and very fast!!!

I would go to SA too. SA is a title contender. The Rockets are not.

I really question the Morey hiring. Dennis Linsey should've become GM. He was the right man. Had the right experience. And he has more talent skills thank Morey.

I sure hope Morey knows what he's doing....

Kind of how I feel, Morey may very well turn out to be a great GM, but Les bringing him on feels strange, sort of L. Ron Hubberish....if you know what I mean.

Like maybe Les is playing cards with a shortened deck these days? Has he joined scientology, yet?

Presti already left for Seattle and Lindsey was hired to take his place. R.C. and Pop run the show in Spurstown. Lindsey will be a distant 3rd (or 4th behind Holt) when it comes to decision making.

A lot of assumptions with no factual basis. That said, it is not whether Morey 'knows what he's doing' it is whether Morey has the skills to interact, negotiate, build the people factors necessary to accomplish what he knows to do.

Where and when will the Rox go to replace Lindsey?

Didn't Les make a run at Billy Beane at one point. I remember reading about him contacting him about switching from baseball to basketball.

Seems like Les is big on the idea of sabermetrics/moneyball for whatever reason.

Basically Rudy as the coach helped winning the 2 championships, but as a GM, he failed miserably.
